Try getting wasted often while training, I'm sure come fight night the commission won't have to punish you the opponent will.

It's not illegal though, smoking is technically mind altering and it's not gonna do you any favours in the ring neither is alcohol or weed.

The odd one out? It's the legality if someone chooses to drink alcohol all the time in training then they will get their rewards also Alcohol tends to clear itself from your body after about 24 hours, testing would be almost impossible in its current format.

If weed was legal it might not be on the banned substances list but it's not gonna do anyone any favours in the ring. My point being just because something is good for you doesn't mean you can ban it.

Bottom line it was ****** for them to suspend him so long and with such a huge fine.

Saying that, he should know better being a pro. He needs to grow the *** up and understand what substances are legal and which are not and abide by the rules.

I agree on pretty much everything, but I'd like to amend something: The suspension and fine weren't "******;" they bordered on criminal. Chavez would have to earn approximately 1.5 million dollars just to clear 900k. That fine was draconian at best and criminal at worst.

Who cares if its illegal, since when are the sports commissions the police? Alcohol is way worse and mind altering then weed, theres no reason it should be on the list. If it has nothing to do with the sport, why should they care?

I've never done weed, but thats just ridiculous that they go hard on those who smoke and turn a blind eye to roids

I used to smoke weed before I went to the gym. I would run/train for quite a while, like 2 hours and not even be tired. Not saying I can't do that while not being high but I would just zone out and before I knew it, 2 hours had gone by.

Bottom line is it's on the list, don't do it. plus he slid on other tests with no punishment and sometimes he skipped out on testing all together. It was making the commissions look bad so they made him pay.

Making the commissions look bad? They recently let off 2 steroids cheats and morales off with no punishment at all. Oh but the big bad weed smoker gets 9 months and 30% fine
