I agree with you 100%. We live in a very uptight world. A boxer could get drunk every day of his training and that would be OK but pot in his system is a big no no.
How can pot be illegal in boxing?

Pot can help a boxer recover when a boxer is squeezing himself down to a weight he should`nt be fighting at so he could blow up real big in weight on fight night to have a size advantage.Sounds familiar? How can it be, I mean weed slows you down, make your muscles relax. I know you will say it's illegal in law but boxing federations shouldn't disqualifie fighters for it. And don't think of me as a Chavez Jr. fan beacuse i'm not but it's just doesn't make sense. What's your opinion?Comment

Pot can relieve pain. It may have something to do with that.
Personally, I can't imagine anything scarier than being stoned in the ring.Comment

Sounds to me like the TS is basically just mad pots illegal. Hey man me too, but here's the thing, nothing irritates me more than a man making millions and throwing it away just for some momentary pleasure. I hate that pot's illegal, but when you're at a Chavez stage more is expected of you than the average person. For the record I'd rather see a boxer get stoned every night than drunk, but overall I just want to see them follow the rules.Comment

It shouldnt be illegal, its just complete BS. The fact that a winner in a fight who gets busted for weed get the decision overturned to a NC is a jokeComment

I don't where where it says it's a performance enhancing drug, but it is a banned substance.
Hypothetically weed could help you lose weight, but realistically it offers no advantage but I think the main issue here is this is the second time Chavez has been caught using a banned substance it shows contempt for the testing and the commissions if it was the first time he'd probably have gotten much less. And he's missed tests before if I recall correctly?Comment
