Thats what Pacquaio told Floyd and people like you swear up and down those statements is a solution to their problems. Listen, in every generation there is fights that the public wanted that was never made, so Mayweather Vs Pacquaio is no different, If a person was a boxing fan before they ever watched a Mayweather or Pacquaio fight they should understand the business of boxing, so by virtue Mayweather Vs Pacquaio not happening should be a non issue.
The public was asking Mayweather to fight Pacquaio for their entertainment and pay himself less for doing it, Lampley, Merchant, Steward and any others that's involved in the business of professional prize fighting knew that, why do you think Floyd got so agitated with people that knew better asking him that bull****. Floyd is making 70 million minimum per fight these days, Pacquaio is taking home 6 million, but claiming he's making 25 million per fight. If Pacquaio was making what Mayweather is making why wasn't HBO or Showtime offering him the deals they offered Floyd.
Mayweather knows what kind of business Arum/Pacquaio was doing because De La Hoya was receiving a percentage of money from Pacquaio's fights at one time. Where was all this banter about which fighter should receive what when Mayweather was in negotiations with De La Hoya prior to their fight, everybody knew De La Hoya was the money man then, so it was up to Mayweather to accept De La Hoya's demands (like he did) to fight him, but now the business of boxing is supposed to change for Pacquaio! De La Hoya made a hundred million plus for fighting Mayweather, while Mayweather made 25 million base and had to fight for his extras that were promised to him from GBP. If Mayweather was like Pacquaio and stayed with Arum that fight would have never happened either. Again, 40 million guaranteed is more than what Pacquiao made combined for how many of those Top Rank fights again........exactly.
People might not like it but Bob Arum is no fool, if he would have done business with Mayweather and GBP in setting up a Mayweather fight he would have received 25-30 percent of the shares, while Mayweather and De La Hoya (his former employees) would have raked up the winnings all around. From Bob's perspective, 25-30 percent isn't anything compared to 75-80 percent of him doing his own business with his own company, Top Rank, Arum would have to be desperate to do that bull****. So for this fight to have been profitable for Pacquaio, he would have had to cut Bob Arum out of the picture by doing what De La Hoya and Mayweather did--LEAVE TOP RANK AND GO GET HIS MONEY.
ENTERTAINING BULL**** IS FAR INTERESTING THAN THE TRUTH!

The two best pound for pound fighters in the same division and they couldn't make it happen because of some promoter BS.
Floyd is a HOF, all time great, but IMHO he missed his chance to elevate himself to that rarefied list of the Ali and Leonard type greats by not fighting Pac.

Everyone's missing the point here. If you read it, it's a reference to the idea that Marquez may have juiced for the Pac fight. That's where the "Pac finally learned" comes in, he finally learned the importance of drug testing. Not saying I agree with it, just that everyone seems to be arguing about another subject altogether.
