After watching both guys fights the last week or so and comparing them, I'm going with "The Jackal" on a body shot KO. I can't wait for fight night.

This is how I see the fight going.

Donaire is bigger and stronger in this fight, he may also be the faster guy but that's impossible to tell.

One thing I noticed about Rigo, watching his fights and spar one of my guys recently here in Miami, is that he's incredibly hard to hit. He just moves so well and his feet are amazing. His head movement is fast twitch and he just counters beautifully.

In saying all that, I think it will still be very hard for Rigo to keep from getting hit with a big shot for 12 rounds. When I did see Rigo hit in the gym, I can tell you he's not the strongest guy. Meaning, he can be knocked off balance and isn't a tough brawler type obviously.

Marroquin hurt him twice, and he's not nearly as fast as Donaire. I think Rigo will have to box and move and I see him winning early rounds, but in the end I think Donaire's speed and power will win him the night.

I have Donaire winning by TKO late in this one.

Nonito's only hope for Rigo to get careless, and land his signature left hook.

Otherwise, Rigo's mobility, and defense will carry him to a decisive UD. Of the two, Rigo is more technically sound.

More technically sound doesn't make you a better fighter. For example, Lara is more technically sound than Canelo but I don't think he would beat him. Several fighters were more technically sound than Roy Jones and they still got their asses kicked.

I haven't seen Donaire's explosiveness freeze anyone that didn't have one foot into retirement, at least not lately. Vazquez Jr wasn't an impressive win, neither was Mathebula. The tiny Narvaez came to survive, but he did demonstrate that good defense can nullify Nonito's offense. Rigo has excellent defense. The main difference is that he has potent offense to back it up. It's gonna be interesting.

What Naravez did proves my point, he's usually a busy fighter but against Donaire he shelled up and rarely engaged, if Rigo does the same thing he loses the fight on points. Rigo has good defense but Marroquin was able to touch him several times with that right hand-left hook combination, it looks like Rigo is not used to fighters who lead with power shots, the amateurs don't prepare you for that.

I just can't get over how looping Donaire's left hook can be at times. He has fast hands, but Guillermo throws tight straight shots and I think his punches will get there first.

I agree: twelve rounds is a long time not to get hit with something flush. I do believe Rigo will get touched at some point. It'll all hinge on how he reacts. I believe the jury is still out on Guille's chin, but he's a very small guy who's probably better suited to 118. I can understand why he gets moved when hit. Marroquin, is a solid 5' 8" fighter. It's no surprise he rocked Rigo. Nonito might hit harder, but Robert is no slouch, and he's substantially bigger than Donaire.
