Look, this is a completely different situation to May/Pac. Donaire has subjected himself to random drug tests all year round for over 12 months now. Everyone that has fought him in that period of time not only knew it but agreed to it themselves. Rigo has chased Donaire for this fight for what feels like an eternity and knows donaire's involvement with the testing regime. His known about it for at least a year now. Why agree to a fight knowing full well you are going to get tested and then leave the contract at the last minute.
Between May/Pac, Floyd was under not such testing restrictions and had never mentioned random OSDTs up until Pac was mentioned as a possible opponent and then he went on to say he feared for his own health and safety when fighting Pac...Donaire has never spoken in that way about Rigo and was more than happy to go ahead with the fight.
I do hope this is just a blip in the road and the fight goes ahead.
Random blood testing is part of the contract. If Rigo agreed to this contract at first and today he doesn’t want to sign it just to delay the commencement of blood testing, then the problem is in Rigo. If he doesn’t want this random blood testing, then he should turn it down this fight in the very first place so as to avoid confusion.
I hope that Donaire would fight him still, as long as Rigo passes also the standard blood testing mandated by the state prior and post fight. After all, Donaire said once, he will subject himself to random blood testing and will not force his opponent to do the same.
nonito has said in the past he'd fight his opponent whether they would do the test or not.. and he did exactly that with arce, nishioka who both turned it down ..why cant he do the same with rigo now?..what changed ?...
Donaire said he agreed with Arum's assessment even as he moves forward with random testing, and he's quite confident in his ability even if an opponent were to cheat.
"I am always willing to fight the guy," Donaire said. "I can say, 'Even though you're on [a PED], I can still beat you.' "
Although Donaire is being randomly tested, he didn't insist that Mathebula be tested as a requirement of making the fight.
" He is welcome to do it, but I don't force anyone to do it," Donaire said.
He contractdicts himself and pulls this testing b.s. JUST like Floyd.
Why would Rigo agree to VADA testing during negotiations and then change his mind just before the press conference? It's very disrespectful and unprofessional, what's the point of negotiating then?
yah it doesn't make sense...rigo signed the contract and i'm sure it detailed that VADA testing would occur for both fighters for this fight...weird.
but it seems like donaire is quick to find another opponent..wtf.
should be interesting to read what rigo's team has to say about this....
“Rigo's team verbally agreed to VADA testing both online and in negotiations."
First off, agreeing to something online means absolutely nothing because it is not a legally binding contract. This is a duck excuse.
As for in negotiations, you have to prove it was verbally said and agreed to. Unless Nonito was wearing a wire or someone was recording the whole thing, there is no legal proof or any legal bindings that would require Rigo to take any extra tests. So if Nonito doesn't have any proof of a verbal agreement, this is a duck excuse as well.
No doubt about it when rigo signs this something else will come up what donaire fails to tell people is that vada testing was not listed on the original contract rigo signed that ain't rigos fault
Of course it wasn't on the contract, Donaire said Rigo's team VERBALLY agreed during the negotiations but are now hesitating to sign the VADA testing agreement, it's a separate paper and Rigo's team have it.

People here don't know **** about negotiations, of course a fighter is not gonna let his opponent agree to something and then change his mind just before the press conference. Might as well drop your pants, bend over, get some lube and tell your opponent to go nice and slow.

This has been going on for over a week too. Rigo has had all this time to give his consent and hasn't done so. I guess things are only coming to a head now because of the fast approaching press conference.

The contract didn't say anything about testing. They will tell you this. Why doesn't Donaire clarify that? He's playing you people for fools and twisting things around.
