Will Adrien Broner avoid Lucas Matthysse?

As Adrien Broner gets into his mid-20s and fills out, he'll need to move up the weight divisions like Floyd Mayweather did.

Floyd avoided Mosley at 135, Tszyu at 140, and even "retired" to avoid several people at 147.

Will Broner avoid Lucas Matthysse at 140?

In ten years, when Lucas is 40 and faded and Broner is still close to his prime at age 33, will he fight him then? (like Floyd fought Mosley once Shane came up to age 40)

    Floyd and Shane weren't at 135 together......moron

Tszyu was injured and not fighitng when Floyd entered 140....than he lost to Hatton

    Keep trying.

Broner can't avoid someone he isn't in the same weight class with right now.

I don't care for Broner much but threads like this are just ******. He's not even at 140 yet and you're asking everyone to basically "guess". There's no way to tell what will happen.

If it was totally up to this kid does it look like he'll avoid anyone? Does he look insecure to you? Do you think he can fight? This kid isn't and doesn't have to avoid anyone!! He fights to win (by KO)(how refreshing) and if and when he looses I don't think it will mean a thing! Fighters fight!!! Fans fear!!! Ray.

I really dont know, I hope he doesnt avoid anyone because if he keeps improving he should have no reason to. I think because of the way he is and his regard for floyd, people think there's a big danger he will follow floyd's career model. I hope he doesnt do that.

Floyd and Hatton weren't at 147 together, Hatton was champ at 140.

But Floyd liked being in with smaller men. Even though Shane Mosley, still good at that time, called him out on ESPN, he chose Hatton.

Floyd and Marquez weren't at 147 together, Marquez was champ at 135.

But Floyd enjoyed his huge reach advantage over the smaller JMM.

Floyd could have fought him before and after he was injured.

Floyd could have fought Tszyu after Kostya fought Mitchell, but Mayweather chose softer opponents. Had Floyd known Kostya was faded in 2005, it would have been Floyd-Tszyu instead of Hatton-Tszyu.

Floyd often fought people from smaller weight divisions. Jesus Chavez (1-13) was a bantamweight who came up to junior lightweight to fight Floyd.
