No, actually he said he wanted to apologize because everyone didn't get to see more of him. That was said in between the "the best shot I have is the picture I take" and "Burns/Vasquez who??"

I'm a little PO'd that Lockett wouldn't give Rees just one more second to reach the bell and then assess whether or not to stop the fight.

Rees fought his heart out, and Broner is an entertaining fighter. Yes he is a dork, but I would pay to watch him fight live. I would just wear ear plugs during his ring entrance! LOL

I see Rees fought with the Ponce De Leon fight in mind, he just didn't have the durability or chin that Ponce has. I think Broner's defense isn't anywhere near what he or a lot of fans thought it was. He did show that he has crazy power and speed, which I guess a lot of us already knew. I think once Vazquez schools Burns, that's gonna be a tough fight for both guys.

Lockett said to Rees that he was taking too much punishment at the end of the previous round. Lockett did the right thing.

Quite frankly, Broner as a person does represent much of the youth of Amerika today, and that is a very sad state of affairs. He's forced, narcissistic, and classless.

Also sad is the fact that Max Kellerman gets a BWAA award for "excellence in broadcast journalism" when he's getting worse all the time. Tonight was his nadir.

By implication "the tons of money" were what he would have won.He bet, smallish amounts on Rees inning by KO in several different rounds, getting huge odds, maybe 100-1.

He was "overtalking it" a bit, because he'd been his trainer.

Wasn't that what Rees did the first two rounds? You could be right though, it's been a while since I've seen the PDL-Broner fight, but tonight reminded me of it for some reason. Maybe it was the fact both found Broner's body very easily.
