I have a feeling one klitschko has to step down now! Contenders just arent willing to fight each other knowing that at the end they will get beat up by a klitschko! there are only just a few fights that matter and every fight is based around a klitschko! people are just searching for a guy who can possibly have a chance to beat klitschko and overlook what great fights can be made when heavyweight contenders are willing to fight each other! there has to be a new dynamic soon cause the klitschkos beat nearly everybody that matters in the division!

I haven't been interested in the heavy weight division in a while now. I don't think HBO and Showtime are interested in that division either. The first time in a while I watched a heavy weight fight between Banks vs Mitchell. The last fights before that was Arreola vs Adamek, Wlad vs Haye and Vitli vs Arreola. which I thought HBO did a good job by putting those fights on their network.

After a loss, promoters these days often abandon a fighter.

Nowadays the media and boxing fans make too much of a loss. Years ago fighters were still respected after losing, and so they weren't so protective of their undefeated record.

It would be easier to make good matchups if promoters were less afraid of a loss.

Promoters simply want to protect their investment and wait until the Klits retire. It's low risk-low reward until they get a title shot.

Agree on all counts. The division clearly suffers from the lack of fights between contenders. Noone seems to want to jeopardize their ranking by taking a risky fight. Instead they all seem to bide their time waiting for the big money against a klit. For fans that sucks. The klit's are so dominating that it would be real good if there was a qualified contender not named Povetkin.

Some weeks have gone by since I made this thread, and still heavyweights like Pulev, Povetkin, Ortiz, Perez, Chambers, Boytsov, Adamek, etc are not scheduled to fight.

Obviously, their promoters/managers are doing a poor job.

Why don't you email their promoters/managers to call 'em out? I correspond occasionally with Deontay Wilder's manager Jay Deas and he usually responds to me.

                  I will do so.

I know some promoters look at this website, so I'm hoping they will see our comments in this thread.

Time for some good HW matchups like Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury.

Its a real shame for Helenius. It looks another inactive year for him.
