It's on a Mexican weekend. Guererro is Mexican-American. Alexander is American.

Guererro is ranked #3 at WW and #10 P4P (By the Ring). Alexander is WW #10 and unranked P4P

Guererro is more exciting. Alexander is very boring.

He's coming off a huge win as an underdog in an entertaining fight. Alexander is coming off one of the most boring fights ever as a heavy favourite.

Why would you fight him over Guererro?

Only thing Alexander has over him is he is a belt holder.

Guerrero probably wasn't happy with the money Floyd offered him. Alexander will fight for cheap.

At welterweight Guerrero and Alexander's resumes are of similar quality. The only reason why Alexander is a worse fight is because of styles. Guerrero would make for a more entertaining fight. But as far as quality of opponent, these two are similar.

I think Alexander should have went through with the Kell Brook fight though. This was a very winnable fight for Devon.

A resume of Maidana, Bailey and Brook would give him the edge over Guerrero as far as welterweight resumes are concerned.

I hate the opponent choice. Makes no sense.

As someone stated, perhaps this fight isn't actually gonna happen.

        I hope they're right.

Because there is nothing good about this fight. Even if this is just "tune up" for a fight in September, which its probably not, it still sucks.

This fight is an absolute joke. A lame, pathetic excuse of a fight. Unless Floyd attacks Devon without mercy and lets loose a barrage of combinations until Devon quits, there is no promise of this being a good fight at all. And we know that Floyd only fights as hard has his opponents do. Which is why at the very least Guerrero could have been a good fight. Despite that Guerrero wouldn't have much of a chance at winning, at least he'd attack and force Floyd to throw. Alexander won't do that. He'll grab and throw pitty patty smacks whilst screaming "HUH HAH HUH!!!" Who the fuck wants to see that??!! How can you possibly get excited about this fight at all?

There is no justifying this fight. I don't care what anyone says. If you're a Floyd fan who doesn't want this fight at all, identify yourself. Curious to see who'll respond.
A few naysayers will be found today, but just like the guerrero fight, they will find a way to spin some laughable justification out of this disgrace. Not talking about you D, but the bumsniffs....you know the ones.

This fight is indefensible on every level.

The southpaw tune-up excuse is BS because Guerrero is also a southpaw tuneup.

There are already some threads defending this.

You'll be all over it as it approaches or will quickly and conveniently forgive and forget it afterwards....just watch.
