I could understand Marquez, because he just killed Pacquiao. But I mean, do we really need a rematch of a 12-0 fight??? But again, I could understand that, and it would erase that excuse that Manny somehow fought a killer Welterweight beast in Marquez, that was soooo much better in 2012 than in 2009.
Alexander is pointless. It's all risk, no upside whatsoever. Floyd has to dominate 100% or else is't a failure of a fight. Guerrero would be better right now. The only positive to come from this would be seeing Canelo and Guerrero get other fights to possibly make the Floyd fight THAT much bigger.
All true but Marquez is the best fighter in the world he can fight at 147. Everyone else is a drop off.
Floyd's response last weekend when Showtime brought up him potentially fighting Guerrero...
"Well, my opponent hasn't been selected yet, but Guerrero must have done something to keep getting mentioned"
For him to acknowledge Guerrero as a legit opponent, then fight Alexander...I am with Dan Rafael...I am not buying it. This could be a way to make the Guerrero fight seem even more appealing than it really is (and it IS an appealing fight).
It's like getting your mouth set for a nice juicy burger, then having some SPAM brought to you, then they take it back and bring back your burger. That burger will now taste like steak lol.

Im anxious to hear why RG wasnt selected.
It's not 100% set, so let's wait and see. I mean, Floyd has never tipped his hand on his opponent since becoming a PPV star....and he's going to start now???
Tim Bradley, who already did beat Alexander, easily.
Juan Manuel Marquez
Manny Pacquiao
And oh yeah, the guy Mayweather was supposedly going to fight, Robert Guerrero.
At 147 I would pick Alexander over bradley all day. Devon's a different beast at 147. On top of that Arum would never let Bradley fight a goldenboy fighter
Manny's chin will NEVER be the same. He's done.
Marquez is way to old and slow to beat Devon at 147.
Guerrero is the absolute worst choice! What has Guerrero done at 147? He beat an Aydin that just got his ass whooped by Karass and his other win was against a steroid free Berto that was coming off a 15 month lay-off.
Why are people throwing Bradley's name out there as a different opponent. If the May/Pac fight can't happen, how in the hell is a Bradley one going to happen. Sad fact is Top Rank is out of the picture for working with GBP for the near future.
We all though Ward and Dwson would be boring but we were pleasantly suprised and I have a feeling this may be the same case for this fight. Alexander knows he has to be the aggressor in this because he's not getting any ugly decision, with a Canelo fight looming in September.
damn it, the dude fights once a year and gives us this turd of a fight. i've paid for 2 of floyds last 3 but i'll probably just wait out the replay on this a week later. not only will this be one-sided, it will be huge stinker too.
if he was gonna go non-mexican, he should've gone after bradley at 147 or trout at 154. heck, a cotto rematch or a marquez rematch would make more sense. this fight makes less money than any of the four and does crap for his legacy. nonsense fight
