front runner, meaning there are other names in place...Alexander could be the front runner only because he is willing to accept what ever crap deal Mayweather throws his way. I think Guerrero is holding out his end because he knows how much this fight is worth, and is trying to be fairly compensated. I don't see Floyd paying the extra 2-3% to the IBF for their belt.

Furthermore, what fight can realistically be made for May 4 for a 147 lb fight?

Don't most guys have a fight?
Not sure why he can fight Cotto and Canelo at 154, but Trout is never mentioned. Floyd isn't too concerned with name recognition obviously, Trout is another Haymon client and a much better fight.

    • Looks like mayweather has two fight left, second coming next year for cinco de mayo against alvarez as long as he doesn't lose til then.

      • I hope this is a joke to fcuk with the fans minds and create more hype for Guerrero

Devon has lost to the 3 best fighters he has faced. At this point I'm praying the it's Guerrero

Also doesn't Haymon have a rule that his fighters don't fight each other

I agree completely as far as 154 goes, I think that's where he should fight if he is interested in challenging himself. I just have a feeling he isn't interested in fighting at 154.

If that is in fact the case and he is staying at welter, who should he fight on May 4 out of the available options?

Guerrero, Alexander (even Brook now is an option)...There's not many guys available right now, Marquez again? Pacquiao is out of the question for several reasons.

Bradley has a fight, Paulie is vs TBA (no one wants that fight anyway)

Bottom line is if he is fighting at 147, He has about 3 options.

In my personal opinion, the only fight I'd like to see him in is Martinez at 154, other than that I couldn't care less if Floyd ever fights again...

I'd honestly prefer Marquez II over this fight. Alexander brings no intrigue and is not a threat to Floyd. Not a lot of options, but something better could have been done.

            • Al Haymon runs things...F**k u Mayweather. Why don't u retire? Its obvious now you won't fight anymore competitive fights, so go enjoy that fine lady of yours.

              • I really believe he's fighting 2 times this year now, because this has tune up written all over it. I think they're going to make sure he and Canelo has easy fights to guarantee they end can fight one another in september.

                • If Alexander is not really hurt, then he wouldn't pull out of the Brook fight unless this was true. If Alexander is really hurt, then why would Floyd even mention him? I'm afraid this might be true.
