Better Resume? Donaire or Mares???

People love to knock Mares' Moreno now, and down play it. Everyone said Moreno was going to school Mares.

Saying Mares has never fought a 122 pounder doesn't mean people are downplaying the Moreno win. It's a great win. But Mares never fighting a 122 pounder is simply the truth.

Mares slightly.

The quantity is there for Donaire, but if you cut the bull**** and see through all that crap, Mares has the quality on his side.

Darchinyan, Moreno, Agebko 2x, Draw with Perez, Morel.

Darchinyan, Montiel, Mathebula, Nishioka...after these 4, you basically have to reach your head in to a black hole and start picking mediocre fighters to list; Arce, Vazquez, Marquez, Sydorenko, Mthalane.

Like I said, the quantity of "names" are there for Donaire.

Just like the quantity of names is there for Wladimir Klitschko vs let's say Bernard Hopkins, two of my favorite active fighters. Who's resume do you prefer to have; Trinidad, Tarver, Pavlik, Pascal, Winky, Johnson, Joppy, Allen, De La Hoya, Eastman, Echols, Vanderpool close fights with Calzaghe, Taylor, Dawson=quality. Potentially add Cloud there too.

Or do you want quantity; Haye, Byrd 2x, Peter 2x, Chagaev, Gomez, Thompson, Ibragimov, Brewster, Austin, Brock, Rahman, McCline, Mercer, Botha, Barrett.

both have comparable resumes, but those glorifying Mares need to realize that he couldnt put away old man Morel and got popped a few times by a Moreno, who didnt exactly have a great resume at 118 and looks like a skeleton with no power

Mares fought in the bantamweight SHOWTIME tournament which helped out his resume but thats about it.

Donaire's is better at 122 and he also beat Montiel who was regarded as a top 10 P4P fighter at the time at 118

doesnt matter because Donaire will go on to have a way better career. Mares is a small dude at 5 foot 4 which is small even at 122.

Mares moving up in weight, good luck with that, i wish him well, I just feel he really needs Donaire on his resume to have respect because beating up on middling contenders at 126 wont do much for his career and legacy.

His size and lack of power at the higher weights will also be an issue

Mares never fought an at least decent 122 pounder but overall he and Donaire have almost the same level resume buy the way that Donaire go thru was more impresive.

really morel? and for donaire you also forgot to add omar narvaez who is a two weight world champion (currently wbo super flyweight champ), #1 at 115lbs, and was undefeated before he faced donaire...also hernan marquez isn't really a mediocre fighter (he went on to win the WBA flyweight world title), same with mthalane who is the IBF flyweight world champion right now.

also donaire beat a far better version of darchinyan...darchinyan didn't really accomplish a whole lot at bantamweight.

Narvaez, you mean the 5 foot dude Donaire had trouble connecting cleanly with?

Morel is as mediocre as Arce, Vazquez, Mthlane, and Sydorenko.

Also, out of those 3 fighters I listed for Donaire, 3 of them retired right after, which shows where they were in their careers when he fought them.
