But as for your other issues, This is NOT a co-promotion. They are paying for Nonito's services. This is the same f***ing offer that Bob Arum said he was making to Golden Boy for this fight except Golden Boys is ponying up more cash.

So you mean GB is supposed to pay 3 Million AND give top rank rights to the fight? AND let Top rank's sponsors (Tecate) hang their banners when GB is sponsored by Corona??? IF that is the case then they need to CO-PROMOTE. I dont think the last two issues were of any surprise, or consequence to Top Rank or Nonito Donaire. It is to be expected when you are renting a fighter for one fight, and paying DAMN handsomely for it!
but who knows what kind of contractual obligations Donaire has with his sponsers. maybe he isn't able to dump them for a fight. all I'm saying is I don't trust Schaefer and I'm sure some kind of hang up is in there. it's just a PR stunt

You are a smart guy Rome, I'm sure you can think of a few reasons why the control freak Arum might not want to concede one of his best assets to his biggest competitor, their competitive TV rivals (Show Time), making him look inept at being able to secure this fight for all interested parties.
Add to the fact he's rich, old and is happy to bite his nose off to spite his face and I reckon we are getting close

      Donaire murks Mares IMO

I really don't care if GBP played the press, am glad they did and about time more of these happens in boxing, sometimes the public need to know what is really going on so that nothing is hiding, GBP can't go back on their word or "contract" now so all the "They are playing the press" stuff is BS.

sure thing but I see the same hang ups. maybe you should read what I wrote real slowly.

look if Donaire's sponsers aren't allowed to sponser him then Donaire may be in in breach of contract with them which could get him sued

maybe you're privy to Doanire's private bussiness deals but I'm not.

this is what happens when people over look words like MAYBE or MIGHT which are speculative which means "marked by questioning curiosity"

This is all starting to strike me as a big pile of dog poo. If both sides cannot come to an agreement, then state so. But to me it was obvious that Donaire's Camp and Rigondeaux seemed to already be in negotiations. So all we have is a bunch of typed words that mean nothing, with GBP and Top Rank playing the press.
So they are not serious but they would leak this to the press and put pressure on themselves? Your post doesn't make sense, If they are not serious then they wouldnt leak it to the press at all.

Well there you have it.....Why can't Donaire fight Mares???

I'm cool with Rigondeaux, IF that happens next. But this sounds like Donaire and Top Rank aren't interested in the Mares fight.

This is not exactly true(and tbh is a bit short sighted)if they wanted to look like the good guys and also knew there was noway of this fight happening right now then they could play to the media..It will also not truth that the public is knowing, rather a convenient story to make them self's look good..I'm not saying GBP did this or that they did not have intentions of making this fight happen...All I'm saying is GBP has been known to do this, put details of contracts in the public to make it seem like they did nothing wrong..They did the same with Khan Peterson's first nego and that was a horrible contract they tried to sell as a good one and Peterson should have been happy..Yet when you read the fine print it came with Khan's d1ck attach to Peterson's azz..

You know in the boxing world these guys are privy to a lot of info, and easy for Richard to find out that Arum was leading Donaire in another direction..So why not release this to the press..A lot of politics in boxing bro..

Are they really taking a risk though? They never broke any laws. They are expecting the press and the readers to take it all as face value. That is why they offered so much money in the first place. They know they cannot work with Bob Arum. They know Bob would never, under any circumstances, give up control of a burgeoning PPV star.

What is the motivation behind all this? I have no idea. Maybe Mare's himself is pressing them to make the fight and they can show him some type of "Look here see what we did?" kind of deal.

I remember the trade they initially proposed. It was to Offer Matthysse for Rios and Mares for Donaire. Considering Bob has the two higher profile and popular fighters (not necessarily better fighters), they placed Bob as the man taking all the risks. You would think they would have offered Danny Garcia for Rios, to make it even, but they didn't.
