Add to the fact he's rich, old and is happy to bite his nose off to spite his face and I reckon we are getting close
Donaire murks Mares IMO

I really don't care if GBP played the press, am glad they did and about time more of these happens in boxing, sometimes the public need to know what is really going on so that nothing is hiding, GBP can't go back on their word or "contract" now so all the "They are playing the press" stuff is BS.

look if Donaire's sponsers aren't allowed to sponser him then Donaire may be in in breach of contract with them which could get him sued
maybe you're privy to Doanire's private bussiness deals but I'm not.
this is what happens when people over look words like MAYBE or MIGHT which are speculative which means "marked by questioning curiosity"

This is all starting to strike me as a big pile of dog poo. If both sides cannot come to an agreement, then state so. But to me it was obvious that Donaire's Camp and Rigondeaux seemed to already be in negotiations. So all we have is a bunch of typed words that mean nothing, with GBP and Top Rank playing the press.

Your post doesn't make sense, If they are not serious then they wouldnt leak it to the press at all.
You know in the boxing world these guys are privy to a lot of info, and easy for Richard to find out that Arum was leading Donaire in another direction..So why not release this to the press..A lot of politics in boxing bro..

What is the motivation behind all this? I have no idea. Maybe Mare's himself is pressing them to make the fight and they can show him some type of "Look here see what we did?" kind of deal.
I remember the trade they initially proposed. It was to Offer Matthysse for Rios and Mares for Donaire. Considering Bob has the two higher profile and popular fighters (not necessarily better fighters), they placed Bob as the man taking all the risks. You would think they would have offered Danny Garcia for Rios, to make it even, but they didn't.
