Ahhhhh, yes.....that was a beauty. I don't think you can throw a punch any straighter than did Arguello, with that one.
Pryor had his hands down & Arguello shot that dart right into his mug...jolted his head in, & back.
Pryor should have been unconscious !

I was kind of sad the first time I saw that fight because Arguello threw so many punches that he used to absolutely demolish other fighters (another good example of a great punch he threw was the right uppercut to the gut, right cross to the mug combo he landed in the 11th or 12th). It must have been very disheartening for him to know that he was landing his best stuff with little to no result.

Arguello was a surgeon man...I don't know if we'll see another fighter with that kind of textbook precision again.

I've read about that punch. But, I have never seen it.
What I read said that Uzcudun kept a very high & tight guard, one that was hard to penetrate. Louis jabbed incessantly until that window opened just enough, & blam !

There's a lot of quality Louis footage out there, wonder if some of that punch exists.

It must have been a murderous shot. Flooring a guy is one thing, but KNOCKING HIS TEETH THROUGH HIS MOUTHPIECE AND UPPER LIP?!?!? Holy **** that only could have come from a puncher like Louis.

I say the uppercut Buster Douglas hit Tyson with before he knocked him down in the 10th. Douglas dominated Mike the whole fight so people focus more on the complete masterpiece but that punch was wicked. If mike didnt have a neck the size of a tree-trunk Id hate to think what would happen. That punch would have rocked any heavyweight throughout history!

Knockdown aside.....Tyson was getting eaten alive.
Tyson barely landed a punch in that fight, while getting beaten silly.
