What's up with Ward and Martinez??

I'm getting real tired of both Martinez & Ward.

Martinez seems content with sitting back & milking fringe contenders hoping for a big payday against a Chavez or Floyd. 160 is stacked right now & the best he can do for us is what's his face in Argentina??

Then there's my guy Ward, who is bashing 2 guys he's already dominated. It's up & over time. He's young, elite & the face of boxing. Find a new division to go & conquer. Why recycle all these names, there's no point.

It seems like that bug brought on by Floyd & Pacman is getting to all these top pfp fighters. I hope they keep these young guys like Broner & Mikey off that damn pfp list. Otherwise we'll get a whole lot of little cherrypickers springing up.

Martinez should just try to unify
push for whoever has the other belts and close his career strong
if he has to drop the WBC to get Sturm, Geale, Soliman, etc, do it
they screwed him over before and he was supposed to be done with them
he's the real champ and should prove it against the other guys
while the Golovkin hype is strong, fight him and beat him
at his age, he doesn't have time to waste
as for Ward, SMW has been cleansed
shoulda gone up and targeted Cloud before Hopkins did
and give him props for Dawson, but understand others who don't
beat him again at LHW and get the title

In Martinez's defense, he's just got off knee surgery. Nobody knows how that is gonna affect him in a fight so why not take a soft touch?

The problem for Ward is there is only one division above 168. If he moves too quick, cleans that division out, what is left for him to do? Fight 6'6" 250 lb. heavyweights? Ward still have a lot of business left at 168.

The two most lucrative fights are Sergio Martinez and Gennady Golvkin moving up to 168 to fight him. I would love to see HBO push for that since they own Martinez and Golovkin.

There is the last man standing in the Froch/Kessler/Bute triangle. Froch dearly wants revenge vs. Ward. Kessler wants to put the controversy of their scrap to bed. And we've never seen Ward vs. Bute.

The Dirrell brothers. I won't hold my breath.

Then there are fringe contenders like Adonis Stevenson, Edwin Rodriguez, Tommy Oosthuzien, even Pavlik if he unretires.

I want to see Ward stay at 168 through 2014. Go to 175 in 2015 when Hopkins retires at 50.

        Thank you for reading.

Martinez is fighting a dude who who should have the WBA super world title and has the interim WBA world title now. He has no losses and is ranked in the top 10 in the world. I'm not sure how people keep thinking that Martinez is fighting bums when he is fighting the top dudes in his division. I mean 3G just fought a jr mw with 5 losses who moved up in weight.........am I missing something here?

Quillin is talking about fighting Geale next or something and Sturm isn't coming out of Germany...EVER. Beyond that, he has fought Macklin and Chavez jr who are both in the top 10 as well as Barker who is sitting just outside the top 10 now. That leaves Soliman and Pirog (this guy might as well retire, I'm not sure how he is even still ranked).

So who hasn't Martinez been fighting in the top 10 that means anything at all? Maybe Sturm and Quillin....3G just got his face smashed up by Rosado....I'm telling you now, Sergio would beat that guy to a pulp.

There must be some other top ranked guys who aren't "fringe contenders" that I just don't know about because as I see it about 8 out of the 10 top ranked guys at MW appear to fit that description if you ask me.

Please explain that part.....I don't get it. They sign contracts to be on their air but they can't demand that they fight in another weight class, that's ridiculous. Since there is no one for Ward to fight at 168 apparently, it seems that they would have him move out of 168 instead of having a bunch of other boxers move up to 168 if that were the case.

Martinez is coming off surgery for his knee, he's allowed a "soft touch" (who is an underrated fighter and could be problematic if underestimated)

Ward is a 168lb fighter, he doesn't really want to move up and why should he?

I didn't really like Martinez's 'why should I fight Golovkin' schtick (if in fact he did say it).

I don't see anything wrong with Ward staying at his natural weight of 168 as long as he fights the top guys which so far he has been doing. He should fight them in Vegas and not Oakland. Martinez is fighting a decent opponent but he should fight the good Russian middleweights Pirog and Golovkin or Geale to prove he is still the best. Ward should not be trashing Kessler and Froch. He should be offering the winner a fight in the states but not California.

Ward recently talked about seeing himself ina heavyweight fight before his career is done and he's cleaned out 168, no doubt, I think he needs to go to 175 sooner then later

Martinez is happy to take the easier route fighting guys he can spank quite easily but that bring in good money, it's a formula that's been working for him for a little while and as the old saying goes "if its not broken, why fix it"..I could think of more interesting fights for him, but the risk vs reward might not be n his favour like it is now and I don't see them changing their formula

I'll get my helmet on as I'm sure their fan boys will be along to throw rocks at me
