Ward is a champion, Ward outclassed both of them. They're contenders. Unlike them Ward has nothing left to prove.
Ward beats either in a rematch. But Ward can do it overseas to PROVE he's a champion who's willing to accept the challenge of having to completely dominate or KO an opponent to overcome home cooking. He didn't do that during the Super 6 and unfortunately he's not willing to do that now.
I have a lot of respect for Ward as a fighter who gets it done, but if he feels he has no need to venture outside Oakland or the US as a WORLD champion, then he himself limits his popularity growing beyond hard core boxing fans. Let's get real. He's not a scintillating fighter. I'd describe his style as utilitarian. Ironically, in that regard, he needs Froch or Kessler to make the kind of money earned by his European counterparts.
And Froch and Kessler aren't interested so long as Ward continues to insist on an Oakland rematch. The champ needs to face popular/business sentiment: Froch vs Kessler >>> Ward vs Dawson.
If it's a matter of a difference in take home pay, then Team Ward should just spell it out: we want a 25% up-pay over a US fight if the venue is in Denmark/UK. Or whatever. Just don't sit there smugly in California and expect popular challengers to fly across the Atlantic to help fill seats.
Because in Denmark and Nottingham they are pretending to act like they want to fight Ward again to look good in front of their fans but in reality...Both Men know they have no ***in Chance Against Ward and really don't want that rematch because stylistically it is just not a good match up for neither and them and their teams knows it
but they still throw Ward name out there to give their fans FALSE HOPE
with respect to Kessler and Froch but their fight is for the "SECOND BEST" at 168 lol that is just the truth and them and their fans hate that it is like that...I would much rather see Adonis Stevenson or Thomas Oosthuizen get a shot a Ward then to recycle matches that wasn't even close the first time and neither Kessler or Froch did anything in those match its to make anyone believe that the outcome of a rematch would be any different
My view on things is that Ward made his way, dominated really, his way to the top of the division...and now doesn't know what to do. The fans are there, the endorsements are there, and the proverbial driving seat is there but fans aren't excited about Ward - they are when it comes to Kessler and Froch.
In reality as much as Froch and Kessler may or may not need Ward, Ward needs them. Ward needs Froch and Kessler to stay relevant in the division otherwise he'll be accused of fighting bums and catchweights. IMO I think Froch and Kessler can get fights (and publicity) more easily then Ward, and Andre Ward I foresee will only fight 1-2 times a year from now on.
Froch needs to be quiet, he got his butt whooped by Ward. Kessler lost but he deserves a rematch because Andre headed butted the hell outta him multiple times. Resulting in opening him up pretty bad.
Kessler was getting hit with clean shots all night and wasn't landing anything. If the guy is a brawler and can't get his shots he claims the opponent ran if he is a boxer and can't get any room or separation he claims the opponent is hugging or lunging to much smh what happened to guys adjusting seems like excuses after a loss
****** hater machinations. The inability to accept that Kesser and Froch are ordinary and limited while Ward is in a different class. When airports are where fights take place we can talk about travel as part of fighting....In the meantime its all about what occurs in the square circle.
Ward is not a protected fighter....when someone makes his life in the ring tough they can make demands. Head butting? learn how to neutralize it inside...Its part of the game
With Kelly Pavlik announcing his retirement from boxing, current WBC Super Middleweight champion Andre Ward will be in need of a new opponent once he recovers and returns to the ring from a shoulder injury. A possible fight for Ward could be against the winner of the Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler fight which is slated to take place in the coming months.
Ward holds wins over both men as he defeated them during Showtime’s Super Six Tournament which pitted the best Super Middleweights against each other. Both Froch and Kessler have gone on to become champions once again and have been mentioning Ward quite a bit.

Alright, well don't fight them then... no one wants to see how much worse Ward can beat up Froch with two good hands.
Not only did Froch get comprehensively beaten the first time round, he also looked like the smaller man. It's not something you're used to seeing with Froch-he's usually the guy who walks them down and looks big in the ring, Ward looked bigger, controlled the ring and looked much stronger.
Ward is at the top with no where to go except up a division.
