Could Floyd have maintained the shoulder roll against Duran

Do you think Mayweather could have maintained his shoulder roll defense against the onslaught of Duran?

No, the velocity of punches and the force that they would come in would be too much for floyd to handle.

No! Can you imagine Castillo did. Floyd relies on tiring out his opponents with the shoulder roll Most of Floyd fights are pretty even after 6 rounds even Hatton had it even after 6, but Fatigue sets in with many misses and Floyd takes over the fights by round 7. Duran was a ferocious fighter for 15 rounds compared to these 12 round fighters so Floyd would be busted up, Floyd likes to fight dirty and if he did that to Duran is like poking a stick to a lion. Duran by Ko. Lets face it Floyd would lose to the 4 of Duran,Leonard,Hearns and Haglar all would win By Ko. If Floyds father fought today he would be at least a 3 division Champ but when He faced Sugar Ray his plans of being Champ were derailed.

            what a load of crap

floyd doesn't tire his opponents out using his defense...he sets up quick counters that way

in fact i've never seen floyd tire out an opponent, he always fights at a moderate pace and makes his opponents fight at the same pace

hatton was not fatigued as he's always enjoyed great conditioning...he was frustrated and got wild just like he did in the first two rounds with pac

people who think mayweather only relies on his shoulder roll for defense should learn how to watch boxing...he used it primarily early in his career but certainly not exclusively... he actually switches up his defense tactics now that he's become less mobile

Would have prevented him getting stopped IMO.

Hatton was clearly tiring going into the Championship rounds.

The way people talk about Floyd's shoulder roll, you would think Floyd is a bum without it. Like if he would lose fights if he didn't use it. I think that is the main problem with trainers and fighters who are facing Floyd. They think, okay once I get past that shoulder roll, i'm going to hit cleanly all night and i'm going to win. Then they get in the ring and are completely wrong and see Floyd's defense consists of much more than just shoulder rolling his way to victory.

Floyd loses to all of FAB4..... If he was in there era he'd be a nobody cuz back then fighters grew fan bases based on their courage to step up & fight the best. Not guys that hide by faking retirements, ducking & dodging everyone.
