I think the least likely scenario for this fight is Garcia by KO/TKO, while the most likely is Matthysse by KO/TKO. Garcia would be making a big statement if he stops Matts.

lucas mathysse is the most overrated fighter on boxingscene.

they sh#t all over alexander and judah, yet praise mathysse on the merits of those fights.

they think he's the best p4p puncher in the sport. in reality, he's nowhere near a one punch puncher, and breaks guys down over many rounds, often hitting them with his best shots in the process. garcia isn't even what i'd call a TNT puncher, and he hits a lot harder than mathysse does.

it's mathysse or rigo. both are horribly overrated. good fighters, but overrated.

people here like underdogs. they're almost certainly underdogs themselves, and identify with these boxers.

they sh-it on judah and alexander because they are undeservedly in the spotlight while guys like mattyhsse wallow around in obscurity even though he's better than them. people root for mattyhsse because they like to root for justice. rooting for guys like judah or alexander is like rooting for a stock broker to make another undeserved million.

Mathysee clearly beat Judah and Devon and should realistically be undefeated and #1 at 140. There is nothing overrated about that

No he's not really a 1 punch KO puncher because thats not his style. He breaks fighters down and stops them late, this can be seen by how he has guys like Judah and Devon running for dear life late in fights and his KO over Ajose, who had a great chin.

Matthysse lost two razor-close fights against Judah/Alexander. I might not like Devon's style, but he's definitely an effective fighter who's difficult to beat decisively (especially on his home-turf). I think Lucas has improved from those performances and he's getting much more out of his limited style now. Garcia seems to be the more versatile fighter, but the wild and aggressive "****er" in him would complement Matt's dimension. Garcia seems to have sensitive skin, and Matt is clearly a puncher, so I think Lucas could potentially stop him on cuts. Garcia has the timing on his side, and Lucas isn't a fast fighter either, but I think Matt's chin will hold up. This is a great match-up on paper and pretty much 50-50.

Anyone else noticed how great Matthysse is at rolling with punches?

He rarely gets tagged while his head is stationary, he's always moving with the direction of the landed shots.

all well and good, but it speaks more about them than the fighters.

they see themselves in mathysse, which is fine. at least they should recognize it for what it is. his esteem is greatly inflated because he's a heroic figure to them.

first time I watched Matthysse was the Judah fight and the commentators were talking like he was just a guy in there, a nobody, they just kept complimenting Judah, Jones was talking about how he's not experienced enough so will struggle to go the distance. Judah landed a great uppercut in round 3 and Matthysse smiled like I used to do when people landed good shots on me. Lucas then showed them all and done excellent when everyone was doubting him.

you're right, he was just me in general.
