Floyd messed up by going on his first "retirement". He should've taken just six months off and fought again. IMO Manny only got fighter of the decade because he looked absolutely superb running up to the end of the decade.

Manny wasn't even relevant the 1st half of the decade outside of the 1 win against MAB he lost to Morales and had 2 draws and what was hopkins doing at that time?

lets see now 20 consecutive title defenses held all the belts becoming the undisputed MW its not even close

Manny won it because he had hype going at the time of the voting beating DLH Hatton and Cotto but truth be told looking at the whole decade he shouldn't come close to Hopkins collecting all the belts and basically owning the division as undisputed champion something Manny could never do

as far as accomplishments goes what Hopkins did is 10x bigger accomplishment then what manny did which is picking and choosing the weakest champion or vacant belt

lol criticizing Pacquiao's opposition...but mention Hopkins' defenses as some kind of grat achievement

Hopkins was like 12-3 in the decade...

losing twice to Jermain Taylor , since your holding Pacquiaos losses against legends against him

I agree Floyd is more skillful and maybe even more talented. But Accomplishment is mainly the basis.

Complete sense being spoken here^^^^. It is about accomplishment in that period and on that basis you can strongly argue having Hopkins ahead of Floyd. Its Manny though, he deserved it, but this forum being what it is,it doesnt surprise me at all that a few idiots want to try and take something away from the guy because he happened to lose three years after the decade ended. Come to think of it, Mayweather's win over Hernandez was in the 90's along with a few other of his wins at 130.
