If Price does a job on Thompson, he'll be that much closer to a Klitschko fight. Haye is sitting here directing Price and Fury to face each other. It won't surprise me at all at this point if Price gets a K Bro before Haye does.

If it was years ago, then maybe, but it is very recent. I mean lets be honest here, he vacated rather than fight price because he was apparently above domestic level - but then e goes on to fight Rogan the taxi driver and straight bum maddalone fighting for and defending the coveted Irish HW title. He ducked and dived and came up with excuse and 3 months later he starts calling price out.

Quack quack there is no ducking

The reason that Fury and Price hasn't happened yet is more to do with TV deals than either of them not wanting to fight each other. Fury is with Channel 5 and Price is now with Box Nation, the politics (and Mick Hennessey's strategy) has created the perception that Fury is ducking Price, but I doubt it is actually reality.

Fury has elevated himself enough to get a shot this year, why risk that opportunity (and his TV deal if he lost the purse bid) by fighting Price now? It doesn't make sense. Maloney will get Price a few more fights against solid opponents in 2013 before his crack in early 2014.

If it was my choice, i'd let them talk, keep them winning and let them fight in 2014, either for a final eliminator or hopefully a title. Bigger fight and much more money. I'd fancy Price at the moment, but I am watching Fury with interest now that he is actually getting into shape.

Well back when the fight was supposed to happen Price wasn't on boxnation and Maloney was losing the sky deal. So I don't buy that at all. Fury didn't fancy it at the time.

You might not buy that my friend, but the facts state otherwise.

                Fury vacated in February.

Sky didnt announce their new deal until June. Price fought Sam Sexton on SKY SPORTS in May, for the British title.

So, if they were to fight back then, Maloney and Sky Sports would have most likely won the purse bids and the fight would of had to go on Sky Sports meaning that Fury would have lost his TV deal.

                Buy it now??

People are all to quick to say that fighters duck each other when 99% of the time it's outside influences.

people have to remember thompson was inactive for a good stretch. he beat maurice harris then had 2 eliminators cancelled because chambers got hurt twice so he became the mandatory without fighting. he went into fighting wlad with like 3 or 4 rounds in a year. i'm not saying he is top level anymore but if thompson is a step up over skelton or harrison. he's 40 but price isn't wlad & that's the only time anyone has ever hurt thompson. i expect price to win but i'm very interested to see how price starts this fight. will he jump on him like harrison or will he feel him out for a few rounds? i'm not convinced price blows him out in 3 rounds like several people think.

If that was the case why didn't they come out and say it? Fury said he was above domestic level - but went to fight rogan. Why? Is rogan a better name than Price? Not in my opinion. All this TV crap is basically excuses from the fighters. Bottom line is, if both fighters want the fight and the match makers want the fight, the fight will 9/10 times get made. And when Maloney came out and said he had £500.000 saved for Fury - suddenly he was interested? I do strongly believe Fury is a fighting man and would like to fight Price. But I also think he knows Price has a serious right hand - and fury has been floored by very weak opponents. Until the fight happens, basically he avoided it. Because it could have been made.
