And Mick Hennesey has? At least if Fury hadn't vacated it could have gone to purse bids and we would see.

I'd like to see what Price will do with Thompson's skill on the inside, even though it's in slow motion. Even with his good reflexes, he doesn't seem fast enough on his feet right now to keep guys away at will like Wlad can so if a Tony walks right that might be an issue for small moments. That's what id like to see though, if it goes some rounds that's ok with me. Price should be able to see everything and not get overwhelmed because Tony is so slow but it will be interesting to see how awkward he looks dealing with that(if he does). overall, he should be able to turn up the heat and have Tony fall out at anytime

I'm pretty sure he would if Fury would.
Well yes. But as he also says in that link, it is a business at the end of the day. At the moment, probably only the business/promotional side prevents it from happening. But let's just hope the fight do happens this year. Would be massive.

I'm just not sold entirely on Fury because he vacated instead of fighting my man Price. But if it happens in the summer, win, lose or draw - Fury will gain a lot of respect in the UK. So the way I see it, either Fury is afraid of Price or he's a very smart business man. I hope it's the latter.

it's business & price is stepping up for the first time. thompson may be 40 but he isn't as bad as everyone here says. he lost twice to the best HW in the world. the last big southpaw that stepped in the ring with price was harrison but thompson is better then harrison. i'd like to see if price will jump on thompson like he did harrison. i want to see price take a good shot. he has yet to have been hit by a solid HW punch. i don't know what thompson has left but we will find out.

I agree that Thompson might be the best opponent he's faced on paper and is probably better than the likes of Harrison/Skelton etc. But if those were to fight Thompson at this stage in his career, i'm not sure it would be a wipe-out. So i'm not sure I would call Thompson a step up just yet. I know they are building up the fight, but Thompson hasn't really got any good wins lately and certainly none over anyone who has Price's level. So expect it to go 3 rounds max and then Price will likely go and fight Chisora afterwards, which IMO will be the first step up.

                  Fury doesn't want the fight.

Thompson isn't a bad opponent, he might be shot on the world stage but you don't go from Matt Skelton to Vitali Klitschko in one jump. It'll give him some confidence, then they should look to mix it with the other contenders.

I'd really like to see them bring in someone who will go 12 with Price, a lot of questions still to be asked.

But which of the other contenders do you think would go 12 with Price? And we can all exclude the ones who want to protect their undefeated record before they get a shot at Wlad/Vitali.
