That, plus how comfortable Ward looked, puts that win on top for me.

The Kessler win was very good also but Wards tactics in the fight leave a slightly sour taste, even if i dont think it would have changed the outcome.

Froch. Simply because those two proved themselves the best in the Super Six. The way Ward dealt with Froch was very impressive.

Both Ian Gardner and Eric Harding were very good fighters. Guess who knocked out Gardner out of Abraham, Golovkin, and Dawson?

And Glass Jawson has been down close to that, at least 5 or 6 times. On many occasions to non-punchers.

Just because he dropped an inexperienced, rather green Tarver and dropped a guy with a poor chin doesn't make him a puncher. He was never a puncher & his record is not deceitful at all.

As for Golovkins power, he definitely has some power but I'm not convinced its what it is made out to be as yet and Gardner was a middleweight not a super middle, no wonder Dawson stopped him.

Personally I've never seen what the hype is about. The guys chinny, boring & mentally fragile & look at his resume...

Yeah his resume has some great names on it B-Hop x2, Tarver x2, Glen Johnson x2 but look at their ages. They was all between 40 & 46, nearly 47.

''He was coming back'' lol, he flat-out got his ass kicked by Jean Pascal & would in a rematch.

Man Dawson isn't even Froch & Kesslers level & to be totally honest I wouldn't have much faith in him not getting his chin shattered or him folding against either Abraham or Miranda.

Why does this win get bigged up so much? Fcuk the weight, Dawson has never has been much good.
Kessler & Froch both spark him & that is with him coming in at 175 if he really wants.
What does it matter really what age they were when they were the top of their respective division? They may have been slightly over the hill, but that was good enough for them to still be the elite fighters in the division. Dawson earned his spotas Light-heavyweight #1 by beating the best regardless of the faded opposition so I won't disparage the man for that. You can't blame a guy for being in a less then stellar division.

I think in a legacy sense his dawson win ranks about the same as his Froch win. When he beat Froch he won the Super- and was the clear #1 in the divison (Bute was hype). And dawson was the clear #1 in the the light-heavies so we were lucky enough to have that super fight.

              Nope. because of the weight.

Dawson looked a shell of himself after 2 rounds and showed all the signs of a drained fighter.

Dawsons best win is Tomasz Adamek.

the truth about Dawson lies somewhere in the middle. the OP is too scathing.

one can make a strong case for either of Froch or Dawson being Ward's best win.

if one says that Froch shouldn't have gotten the decision against Dirrell, another can say he should have gotten the decision against Kessler. both are legitimate points of view.

it may be convenient to do so, but one cannot simply state that one of those verdicts was categorically correct and the other was categorically incorrect.

well he did what not many people are willing to do and thats fight in a super 6 at his division, and he dominated everyone in his division, then dominated dawson who called him out and named the weight, u cant take anything away from him for destroying what was in front of him, dawson was the one who set it that way....

but froch may be his best win
