some of you calling marquez a millionaire like he's been balling out of control for the past 20 years...dude JUST got his first $1M payday against floyd in 2009 and then got paid racks for the two pacquaio fights in 2011 and 2012...he has put in work and received the short end of it all for years and was still getting it up until ensuring no screw job from the last pac fight...i feel sorry for dude because he is and always has been much better than people ever stated...i personally believe he is one of the best (top 5) active and is an ATG...but he had to earn his spot much harder than a lot of others who have put in 1/2 the work...

I still look at the fight between Norwood and Derrick Gainer, the most foul filled fight I've ever seen, in which the ref lost control pretty early. The ending was a real travesty, the fight should have been called off, and both fighters DQ'd. They were'n gtrying to box, they were trying to maim each other by foul means....You should look at that fight again. The ref took a real dislike to Norwood and was actually holding his arms around him from the back whist Gainer was slugging him in the groin. Then, when he should have DQ Gainer for it, he counted Norwood out on the canvas, up to 25....The Three Stooges would have been proud.
      Are you ****ing mental?

Mate, Norwood fouls more than anyone I have ever seen in that fight, with Gainer only reacting when the ref constantly refuses to do anything. Norwood KO's his balls about twenty times, wrestles him to the ground....All the while Gainer is not retaliating and waiting for the ref to do something.

He doesn't so Gainer finally, understandably, takes it into his own hands. Gainer was trying to win. Norwood was trying to foul. Go watch it again. Actually don't. Piss off.

Greg Leon has also written about this fight. I beleve he was there to cover it too. He says not to believe the stories going around that Marquez got a bad decision. He says that John won easily and was in charge the whole fight. I just read Leon on another site a few weeks ago and he is definite.

My own feeling is that it wasnt that John was so good but that Marquez was just a bit hesitant, and lost further when, after being tagged well by a John combination tried to retaliate opening hiself u for a bit more. Marquez was in a bit of a mess at that time. He and his manager Beristain turned down $750,000 fir a return against MannyP even though it was more than all his purses out together until then. A very bad decision, He demanded $1.5 mill and wouldn't compromise a cent. He was haggling like a demon. So he lost the fight and was at a very loose end for almost another year with no fight able to be lined up.

Then he heard John was looking for a good opponent. After a lot of hard thought, he took it, even though all he could get was $32,500. There was a lot of stuff about it on Boxingscene at the time about his "comedown" and I remember it well. After the John fight he looked to be on the way down but turned it around with a couple of good wins in the same year. an't remember who they were but solid fighters. I've seen the fight before on Youtube, and just to remind myself I'm now watching it again, starting now. John is coming to the ring and that duffer Buffer is bellowing his monotonous rumble, although he isn't visible. They probably just rented the recording, or bootlegged it. No loss as far as I'm concerned, I far prefer Jimmy Lennon, and for commentary the prince of action callers Col. Bob Sheridan.
i don't care what boxing writers say. they are wrong all the time. i've seen the fight and marquez clearly won. john hardly threw anything and just backpedaled around the ring like he knew he would get a decision if he stayed upright. marquez outlanded him by far in most of the rounds so yeah i don't get why john would win.

No, it's because Floyd is Way better than him. You don't have to be a nuthugger to know that. We are letting this knockout ish go way to far. Marquez is not that good. "but, but when Marquez fought Mayweather he was fat and bloated". Gtfo, my chick would put up a better fight on her rag when she feels bloated. Some of you clowns... SMH

Good point. No, it won't. Nothing gets any point across to him. I was just releasing my complete exasperation on a fool.

                  Indeed, you're right though.
