Comments Thread For: Donaire Says Mares, Rigondeaux Not Likely Next

You're dismissed. Calling him a fraud shows your ignorance. You're not even qualified to have any discussion about Donaire by calling him a fraud. Good thing you weren't selected in the panel who chose fighter of the year because you'd be kicked out calling him a fraud.Comment

Its not likely going to happen but they're negotiating it because Mares is the easier fight. Bob Arum is not going to lose his new cashcow, not this soon if he can help it.
With the Mexican audience it probably would bring in more money and there is far less risk involved.
I won't be surprised if Bob got it done, Donaire destroyed Mares (who is yet to beat a ranked 122lb fighter) and then Donaire ran up to 126, avoiding Rigondeaux with more excuses. Probably telling him he now has to go up in weight.Comment

So lets see, so if Donaire fights Mares who has beaten some of the best fighters in the world, that makes him a fraud? Try again. If Donaire faces either Mares or Rigo, especially Mares, he silences the critics because Mares is held in much higher regard.Comment

We all know the T in your name stands for Top Rank. You're dismissed. Calling him a fraud shows your ignorance. You're not even qualified to have any discussion about Donaire by calling him a fraud. Making excuses for Donaire not to fight the best doesn't make you any more qualified to pick "fighter of the year" either. Continue making excuses for Top Rank fighters, they all end up getting exposed one by one anyway. Once they step up and get out of there safety zone in there sand boxes, they all get knocked out.Comment

He is only held in higher regard by Donaire fans such as yourself who know he is stylistically a far lesser risk than Rigo but you'll all go on like he is leagues above Rigondeaux because you're as terrified as Donaire is of what Rigo would do too him.
I mean he has fought the bigger/more renowned names than Rigondeaux. But he is yet to have a win over a legit 122lb fighter.
I give him credit for beating Moreno, Agbeko (who I never rated highly) & Darchinyan but these fights were at lower weights.
Moreno & Mares fought at 122, both moving up but that was basically a 118 fight for the 122 strap.Comment
