No, fans are on average not very fair or neutral or unbias. They tend to be very generous to the fighter they like. Lots of Bradley fans think he won or deserved a draw for example. I am not picking on Bradley fans. Most fans are that way when it comes to their favorite fighters. Let fans score the fight and you will have a popularity contest.
worst idea ever. most fans are biased, easily influenced by commentators and dont know how to score fights.
there arent alot of ways to make scoring in boxing worse but you managed to figure it out. good job.
Exactly this and what DeaLikeMe said.
Fans would have their favorite fighter, or the fighter representing their country winning. For example Cotto would beat Floyd or Draw, according to most PR fans from what I saw.
However, Marquez would have probably have 4 wins over Pacquiao by now, all by UD, because the number of Mexican fans would completely overwhelm the number of Phillipine fans voting.
Anyway you see the problem here, it would just turn in to who has the bigger fanbase or the most haters. Floyd would probably be at journeyman status right now with 10 losses by decision.
Bad idea. I mean if that was the case we would be having manny fans saying he won the fight. Haha.
But seriously, I don't think the fans can do any better. I mean this forum living proof that "fans" are unable to be objective. It's bizarre stuff. I mean I saw posting a couple days ago titled something like "how would you beat your favorite fighter" or something. Nah, most "fans" are fans of particular athletes, not the sport. I mean look these fanatical manny and money fans.
This is the best idea. In diving, figure skating, gymnastics, and probably a fair few other sports there are more than 5 judges. The more judges the less likely a crappy decision.
