I wouldn't call Cotto shot. I think his preparation and gameplan were worse for Trout. He also underestimated Trout, who is pretty damn good.

Look, as a boxing fan I agree 100% that Canelo should get a fight with floyd based on beating quality opposition. That said, Canelo undefeated vs floyd undefeated is going to make HUGE money for all involved, both in Mexico and the US. People aren't trying to **** that up! Trout/Ginger potentially ****s that up. I know you don't care nor should you.

Top earners in every sport get more credit than they probably deserve. Again, you take one or 2 extreme posts and then argue them as if they are the mainstream opinion. Its not as bad as you say and as great as some others say.

Bottom line is Canelo may not have "earned" a floyd fight in the ring, but he has more than "earned" it out of the ring. Its no different than the movies. Stallone can't act as well as Denzel, but they both make $20 mil a film.

Financally, there absolutely is. Austin Trout has been seen by most fans 2 times. In one fight he looked HORRIBLE, in the next he looked dominant but not in a spectacular way. Both fights were on the smaller network.

Ghost on the other hand just was involved in 2 action fights, both on HBO. that more people saw. HBO has invested in Ghost and has done a good of making people aware of his background. Ghost is also a Mexican and mexicans buy fights.

Obviously, on paper its a more competitive fight than ghost/floyd. But HBO surely isn't going to give a ppv main to somone with no name and no fanbase that (to my knowledge) hasn't appeared on their network.

Trout messes up the money at this point. He seems like a good dude and a great fighter. But he is standing in the way of a potentially $100-150 mil fight.

I hate to say it with Cotto being one of my favorite fighters and all, but it seems like all his matches since Margarito 1 have been to bank in as much as possible. The last fights he had were just horrible style match ups for specially trout considering the size advantage he had mayweather beat him but him being close in size made it a lil easier for cotto at 154 cotto's just to small and uses to much energy trying to bang with bigger fighters he's much better suited for 147 where he would still hold a size advantage over most fighters.

Would like to see him in there with Bradley or Peterson maybe even Ortiz
