i do know that, the famous 170lb Clottey. But it's a standard that applies to all, the fighter can choose how much excess he's carrying in clothes/***elry. Either way it gives you a lower bound on the fighter's weight, which is what was under discussion.

I know Trout is faster than ginger though. I'm not sold on ginger's power because like the obvious, stopping a jr welterweight doesn't mean you can stop a jr middleweight. Pacman & Floyd at welterweight hurt Mosley more than ginger did 3 fights later.

Trout is long, has better stamina, better speed, better footwork, is a southpaw & has beaten jr middleweights. When Trout's 154lb southpaw jab gets stuck in ginger's face & he can't find a way inside & when he does get there realizes Trout has his number there too, expect a corner stoppage or some kind of crazy dq for Trout dominating the favored kid.

Totally agree with Bush, I also would like to point out. Lets say we flip roles and have Trout fight the guys Canelo has been fighting. Trout would look like he has more power and look just like a flat out God. Also Canelo reminds me of Bute. Bute looked unbeatable until he stepped up. Also for his weight class Bute offense is by far superiors to Canelo has just as much and more speed, but we know looks can be deceiving, as we found out with Bute. Trout has been fighting Jr middleweights while his counterpart has been fighting welter weights and former jr welterweights. I think if trout and Canelo fight, Canelo might find it harder than trout, because he's been use to being the bigger more dominate fighter. Trout is 5'11 while Canelo is 5'8, for a boxer like trout that's a huge advantage!

The only pattern being exposed is that haters are liars. Haters have to lie or spin/manipulate the truth in order to support their agenda. That's exactly what you're doing here. You invested 2 paragraphs in challenging Bushbaby's common sense claim. I'd say you're well invested. It's not hating to recognize boxing is chock full of braggarts and liars, hardly any fighters/promoters can be taken at face value. Floyd is a leading braggart and proud of it, and isn't a straight shooter even by boxing's low standards. Combine that with the implausibility of the claim, refusal to weigh in, and it's basically a net negative. Not only will nobody (other than fanboys) believe you, they will be less likely to believe you next time you make a similar claim, even if less implausible.

You need clarification? You just need to make a comparison on his performances. The fight with Trout showed a slow and fatigued Cotto. There is always a fight that you can see when a fighter has aged. Cotto is not in his prime, he might have some fight left in him but that performance showed that his reaction, stamina, and speed was not all there.

Good post. Cotto was really slow ,he had no punching power, he did not use his jab and he did not throw good combinations. Even Canelo said that Cotto looked slow on that night. Cotto does not deserve to be a gateceeper. He was a rising star and he had really brutal fights. He always gave his best.
