Bottom line is Floyd has no obligation to fight Martinez. One is a welterweight and the other is a middleweight People just want to see him lose so bad that they have to go all the way up to middleweight to find a fighter that he would be an underdog against. Not considering that Martinez would be a weight drained zombie at 154, a weight he hasn't fought at since 2009.

This is a fantasy fight and nothing more. Reminds me of the Pernell Whitaker vs. Roy Jones talk that was taking place during the mid 90s.

because floyd/martinez at 154 does nothing for floyd. Its only meaningful if he wins the MW title from sergio and sergio comes in at 160. Thats why I want to ee floyd/sergio at 160. There is no reason financially or legacy wise to have the fight at 154.

Again, when your argument makes no sense come with the "defending floyd" or "are you on floyds payroll" stuff.
Name another fighter that Chavez could have fought that would have been ppv worthy?? The reason the fight was on ppv, was because Chavez fought Martinez.

Floyd/Martinez at 154, or 160, is still better than floyd/ginger period. Again, you already in this very tread admitted Floyd/Martinez is the better fight. So with these facts, why are we still arguing??

Disagree, Floyd does get SOME credit for fighting Martinez at 154. Full credit would be at 160 though.

If Martinez wants to get Mayweather, he has to eliminate Canelo. It's that simple. He'd be killing two birds with one stone: taking out a potential opponent for Floyd while proving that he's still good at 154.
How does Martinez eliminate ginger?? Lets ask ourselves out of the 2, which would fight which??

Why wasn't the PWill rematch on ppv then?

there is no sane reason for floyd to fight martinez at 154 IMO. It only makes sense at 160. I just question the logic you use when discussing this. You are trying to hard to fit it in to your "floyd invented cherrypicking" thing.

Sergio at 160 would UD Floyd, maybe a late TKO.

              At 154. Floyd UD.

Will not happen though I doubt.

Its funny how this story was leaked 6 months ago and nobody picked up on it nationally. There are shows like Real Sports with Bryant Gumble and ESPNs Outside the Lines that take freelance writers stories and break them nationally. Yet nobody will touch this story with a 10 ft pool. Why is that? Probably because the story has "no legs", as they say in journalism.
Apparently you didn't read the article Golden Boy covered up the 3 dirty test. Lance Armstrong doesn't bring PPV's numbers for Golden Boy but since you your chin On Floyds nut sack you'll never comprehend why the dirty test are covered up

Credit is not realistic. for floyd right now holding a title in 3 different weight classes and beating the MW champ at 160 as a ww champ would be historic. its a tangible accomplishment that very few have ever achieved.

There is no sane reason for the fight at 154?? The koolaid right there. it's the biggest fight that can be made in boxing.

When was the Punisher/Martinez2 & when was Chavez/Martinez?? It's insane to compare the 2, that's crazy.

I guess Floyd fans simply consider it safe to assume Martinez cannot make 154 & then try & pass it off as a fact, when it is most assuredly not.
