Rees' countryman ducked the February 16th fight. This isn't an amazing fight or anything, but Broner is staying active fighting every 3-4 months, and Rees is another Top 10 fighter at 135 he can add there. As long as Burns doesn't duck him after this, Broner will get that fight before he leaves 135, possibly Gamboa too if 50 is serious about making that fight.
Where to begin with this post?

Let's start with the obvious factual error. Wales and Scotland are two different countries.

Secondly, plenty of people criticised Nonito fighting WV and Arce. So why you and that fool Kev are running with the"if its OK for Donaire, it's OK for Broner" argument, I have no idea. Actually, I do. It's a narrative to cling to justify this fight.

If you knew anything about Gavin Rees or had ever seen him fight, you would know why this fight is a complete and utter joke. And if you DO know Rees and HAVE seen him fight, and you still think this is an OK fight.....wow.

BTW, Rees isn't unproven. He has proven himself to be a very average fighter a long time ago. Actually, I'll give you another narrative to add to the Donaire one - Rees was actually a world champion at 140 pounds about 3/4 years ago. There you go, Broner is fighting an ex world champion from a higher weight class. I mean, one of the worst world champs ever but still.

Shut up about Donaire and Burns (who, yes, has shamelessly ducked Broner). Worry about what you're going to be watching when you see Broner fight Rees - an absolute mis-match, a nothing fight, a waste of a HBO headline slot.

Seriously, stop embarassing yourself by going around justifying this fight.

    Just stop.

          The Haymon protection connection continues.

"Send me the contract and I'll sign it."

Another joke of a boxer in the making.

Rees is entertaining enough to watch, comes forward throws quite a lot of punches. He's short for the weight, and isnt bad, but he's not great either. He's about 2 steps below Burns, who's about 1 or 2 steps below Broner. He's sort of stuck between British level and world level.

When it comes down to it, no fighter fights the very best fighters possible in every fight. There are always some easy fights in there. Then there are reasons, we have no idea of, why certain fighters are picked. Some of you guys act like you just got into boxing yesterday.

The only one getting laughed at should be Ricky Burns. For blatantly ducking.
