I just believe it is a trivial issue both in the context of his career - Olympic Gold Medallist, Super 6 Champion - and in the way that he has gone about his business inside the ring. The Super 6 ruined Ward for me. I thought it was atrocious how every single other fighter in the tourney had to fight in another opponent's home field except Ward. Also, Ward got the added treat of fighting subpar fighters who weren't originally part of the Super 6 and he was dead set on not fighting Dirrell from the gitgo.
I can't support a dude like that, props to him if his team has the power to do that for him but it's fabricated in my opinion.
People say he has done tremendous things but he has at best 3 good wins in his career and the day will come when someone makes the fight too close for comfort and we will see that hometown cooking in effect. They don't fight so hard to get the bouts in his backyard because of the 10's of thousands of fans he brings in...it's a fail safe, nothing more.
I wish him well on his recovery and what not but I don't hold him in such a high regard as others do apparently. Great fighter sure but I can see through the smoke screen.
It is a trivial issue, way overblown, and has no bearing whatsoever upon any fight result in Oakland. Weebler made a better point about Kessler fans having a sour taste in their mouth over the way that fight played out, but that should reflect on the ref more than anything.
Ward has proved that he can win away, so this is a non-issue.Comment

Ward is the truth.....
Ward aint the most popular guy, he is a dream-wrecker. He has a phenomenal skill-set and he is still developing as a fighter, but I still say that his best attribute is his composure..... which comes from huge self-belief in his own intelligence as a fighter. The dude is a serious badass, Ward haters are going to be crying for years.Would you have been happier if he had fought Jermaine Taylor instead? Don't forget that Taylor had just gotten KOd by Abraham and people were concerned for his health. He had to leave the tournament too by the way. Again that was not Ward's fault.
I like most of your posts and think that you usually base your arguments on solid logic. But when it comes to Ward it seems that you let bias and emotion cloud your judgement for some reason.Comment

It's there in case he needs it.....that's my gripe with it.I just believe it is a trivial issue both in the context of his career - Olympic Gold Medallist, Super 6 Champion - and in the way that he has gone about his business inside the ring.
