Comments Thread For: Marquez: Memo Would Have Helped With Mayweather Fight

When Juan Manuel Marquez moved up to the welterweight division in 2009 to challenge Floyd Mayweather Jr., he claims that he didn't train properly and put on the "wrong kind of weight" and it made him slow, sluggish and the power wasn't there. He weighed in at 142-pounds, but his body and power wasn't as impressive as it appeared for his last two stints at 147. [Click Here To Read More]

Wouldn't have changed the result but at least won Marquez a couple of rounds. Just the worst style match-up for Marquez.

The thing that would of been different is there would of been no fight if Marquez was looking like that. Mayweather would have picked someone else obviously if he new Marquez could handle the weight.

he may have actually won a round or two..but Floyd didnt beat him with weight, just skill..as good as he is, style match up was no good for JMM..

Same result either way, but would look much less outclassed.
