How is Canelo a better fight RIGHT NOW than Guerrero???

Mayweather's never fought at a CW when going up in weight. I doubt he would, otherwise he's leave himself open to the CW bashing. The only CW I'd be acceptable with for Floyd would be 155-159 CW against Sergio for the MW title. Won't happen though. Sergio is stuck staying at MW and has his own fights there.Mayweather may end up fighting Canelo in September anyway though. It looks like that is what is being set up.
I don't know why he doesn't ask for a catchweight from Canelo (weighed 167 on fight night against Lopez) as that is what he has asked from Martinez in the past (Martinez has offered it as well) even though Martinez is 15 years older than Canelo. Maybe he will, but I've never seen it discussed before.Comment

Canelo is good, but very 1 dimensional. To compare Guerrero in that way means you know little about Guerrero. You can say he's better in some aspects, but it's ignorant to pretend that he's better in movement, in the booth, on the outside, etc.Comment

Guerrero has the better resume and deserves it more, for lack of a better term. But I think Canelo has as good a shot at the upset and is also the much bigger name. For a PPV bout, I could see how that would be more enticing.Comment

So what? Floyd is bashed anyway and Martinez offers him the most money after Alvarez as far as I can tell. He also may very well be a bigger challenge then many other potential opponents like Devon Alexander even with the CW.Mayweather's never fought at a CW when going up in weight. He was willing to force Marquez up to 144 and didn't even bother to make the weight himself. Marquez hadn't fought above 135 up to that point. Why is it okay to do when going down, but not up?Comment
