Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez: Murray Will Not Last Beyond The Eight

The boxer who beat Lionel Messi into second place as Argentina’s sports star of the year, has big plans for 2013.

WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez said in Buenos Aires on Wednesday he would stop Briton Martin Murray within eight rounds in his next title defence in April.

Martinez, who was voted Argentina's sport personality of the year on Tuesday night, ahead of goal-scoring football hero Messi, will make his first defense since beating Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr in Las Vegas in September.

Damn, he beat out Lionel Messi for sports star of the year? Messi just broke the record for most goals in a year.

I think this is a good fight. Murray is massive at the weight and better than Macklin IMO.

Yeah, Murray is a bit of a monster. He is a tough bloke as well, he'll make it interesting and might even give Sergio a few problems but in the end cream rises to the top and I reckon Sergio will most likely stop him. Murray is a face first bully type of fighter, Sergio eats those guys for breakfast.

                Heya Dave, you okay fella?
I think he'll get Murray late on. The Brits seem to have good success for the first half of the fight against Sergio before he goes beast-mode lol

Murrays tough but I feel he isn't quite as good as Barker & Macklin and more made for Sergio.

Does Ricky Hatton really promote Sergio Martinez? Or is this another shocking piece of journalism from this website?
