Then why was Martinez bloodied, battered and undertaking major surgery after the fight? Chavez won the fight 10-1-1 on my scorecard and that's not including Tony Week's disgracefully long count, Martinez was out, or his failure to stop the fight when Martinez was taking a huge beating on the ropes.

Love seeing Sergio getting his recognition. He had such a **** hand dealt to him early is his career (and life for that matter), but he perservered and look at him now. War Maravilla!

lol, I always found that funny. So who are the American world beaters at 160?
Peter Quillin, Danny Jacobs, Jermaine Taylor, Fernando Guerrero, Brian Vera?

This fight will sell well in Argentina. They hate the British and also Yankees and European gringos, but especially the British for loosing the Falklands war which they call the Malvinas claiming the islands still belong to them.

Pointless fight for real boxing fans. Fight GGG you ****!

            You aren't serious. Are you?

I'm sorry, but you must have been one of the only people on the planet with that score. Martinez was fighting back and had dominated the previous 11 rounds. Compubox would bear this out as well.

His only legitimate loss was against Margarito when he was 20 years old, yea the FIRST year he started boxing. He destroyed Pavlik (the bigger harder puncher), Chavez the hype, he just got careless and was fatigued in the 12 after delivering a massive beating, and he got up and didn't clench HE KEPT FIGHTING. Every fighter he has faced has had the age advantage over him, and people AVOID him like no other (Cotto, Floyd, etc). So now he faces a younger, undefeated champion in Martin Murray and he just tore a ligament in his knee 3 months ago, all the while he is getting older and it's a **** fight? C'mon, he doesn't run and dance, he boxes, in and out, and will either bust your whole face wide open or KO u. Definitely not a boring fighter to watch, and IMO deserves a lot more respect than these other hyped champs especially Canelo and other alike when considering their resumes. ****ing trolls on this site. Mad cuz he annihilates all the competition.
Listen fool, Martinez is one of the best and he was robbed vs Cintron but the first Williams fight could have gone either way. And stop putting Chavez pic on your posts, his face was like that because he didnt move, Sergio´s face was quite bad, even though he received about five punches the whole fight ! And Chavez is fine, he is appearing on Mexican TV, no problems. Sergio had knee surgery, not a good thing, and broke his hand, and was almost stopped by five punches !!!!!!!!! Why didn't he fight Julio again?????

Thank you, now i don't even have to respond to this imbecile lol. Martinez kept fighting, he is old so of course he is more prone to injury, and all the while ur boi Julio was getting a face makeover. The fact is he was YOUNGER, "STRONGER", and HEAVIER than Martinez and he still got his ass tore up. And he was caught for PEDS in Nevada 2 yrs ago, it was a diuretic, wouldn't be surprised if the marijuana in his system was to cover something else up. So Julio is a cheater and he still lost, so get his **** out ur mouth and shut ur lame ass up. And i'll keep the pic of Julio bloody, swollen and battered, find me one of Sergio like that and ill take it down.

"This is not the first time he has been caught with drugs in his system. He tested positive for a banned diuretic in 2009 following his victory over Troy Rowlands. He received a seven-month suspension following that test and the result of the fight was changed from a victory to a no-decision." - Bleacher Report

Murrays a strong unbeaten fighter who will be bigger than Sergio so its not a walk over.

The Brit fought competativley with Sturm but as we saw with Macklin if you are level with Sturm then it menas you are a couple levels below Martinez. I expect to see the same gap in this fight late on. Early I think Murray does well but as teh rounds go on and Sergio move sinto that hire gear, tahst when the shots will discourage him and he'll do well to hear the final bell.
