Mayweather has never fought a championship fight at a catch weight. With that, Martinez shouldn't expect one against Ward.
If Martinez can make 54 why not??? Ward cant make 60

Here are the average weights for Floyd, Froch and Martinez in the last 3 years:

      Floyd: 147.37
      Martinez: 158.39
      Froch:167.32

Froch's Bruising style vs Martinez's slickness would make for a fantastic scrap. Its such an obvious blockbuster yet no one has put these two names together.

It's harder to move up in weight when your older, Martinez has hit his ceiling at 160 pounds. Mayweather on the other hand has been going back and forth between 147 and 154 since 2007 (when he was 29). In the last five or six years, Mayweather has fought four times at 147 and twice at 154 (including his most recent fight).

Actually I was talking about 160. I don't believe in catch weights for any fighter.

I also would like to add that Martinez's walk around weight is higher than Carl's.

            Martinez 176 lbs
            carl 173 lbs

Tell Froch to call out Martinez then, and if he wants Martinez's belts he can fight him at 160. If not they can meet at 164 catchweight since Froch is such a 'small super middleweight.'

They are both older fighters. The age has nothing to do with it because they are both going to be 36 and 38. What's the difference?

True.... My bad.... It would be HUGE if Floyd fought him and beat him at 160.... But considering where Floyd came from that is unrealistic and something I don't expect or have a problem with in the least not happening

Martinez 30 weigh-in v. Chavez Jr was 174, now give me a source for Froch's walk around weight that isn't an opinion. I'll wait...
