It was 133 with 3 meals to go in his fight against Navaez, Nonito posted it on his FB & it was tweeted by Danrafael, I have posted it before but seemingly the thread got removed for some reason.

I'll post if I refind it.

Glass will be shattered, and we can only hope that some kind soul will be bumping this thread when it does happen.
      I agree.....

        • Definitely will be pulling for Rigondeaux but i just think he can handle donaires power. And if he does he likely wouldn't be active enough to score a decision.

and rigondeaux has the best footwork you've ever seen from a fighter past or present?

            • Here it is, apologies it was 131 with 3 meals to go!

''Yep, 131lbs n I still have breakfast, lunch and dinner tomorrow before I fight! Totally amped and thanks to my fans for their belief in me and prayers but Team Donaire has prepared me and we are GOOD TO GO!''

Rigo is one of my 5 favorite boxers and I actually agree with this. He's a very technically sound fighter and definitely top 3 at 122 but this is a significant step up for him. I would have rather him fought another top 3-5 guy before getting in the ring with Donaire.

He is difficult to hit and has the ability to give Donaire problems but my concern is if can he create enough offense to clearly win rounds. Fighters talk about their gameplans on how they are going to attack Donaire but once they feel that pop behind his punches they become very defensive.

Should be a good fight nonetheless.

his style honestly plays right into donaire's hands. nonito is a sharp shooter and an explosive guy. he needs the breaks. rigo will give them to him whether he intends to or otherwise. he's very inconsistent.

if he somehow makes it 12 he'll lose on the cards to the more eye catching (and effective,) offense.

i tend to doubt that he does, though. doniare has too educated of a right hand and left hook

i strongly urge you guys who are favoring rigo so heavily to go back and watch every fight in his pro career. he's basically the same guy. he's very sharp and he's clearly been doing this since he was a boy, but he's never come close to developing a professional style suited for championship level boxing. it's a matter of time before he's stretched out.

i'd love to be wrong. donaire's got a junk style himself when he's not exploding with those punches. even at 122 he's one of the hardest punchers i've ever seen at the weight.

                  • Typo on my part. I meant to say i dont think Rigo can handle his power. Imo he'll get caught at some point.

i acutally assumed that to be the case in my response, lol. didn't even notice it.

doniare gets marked up easily, but he's got a very good chin. rigo has been on the deck and shaken up by a much lesser tier of puncher.
