I think he wan comfortably against an opponent who wasn't a bum..after that long layoff is good performance..he knock farenas down two times and he show good chin..but he did some stuff for overconfidence that I won't like to see again..he need to act more careful, put his hands up, and man.. we could see those enormous hooks that michael was throwing but Gamboa insisted and insisted in pass his head bellow the coming line of the punch sometimes three times in a row..that had everybody scared..it seems that with that streng he would get koed but he got caught just like paquio but he took it well..I m sure that he won't do this stuff against bigger opposition but who knows..his trainer is his father and he talk to him very soft..

The bottom line is Yuri won convincingly and the biggest fight that can be made at 135 within the next 2 years is Gamboa vs Broner and the sooner the better because Yuri's clock is ticking at 31 (dec 23)..

No Excuses for Gamboa, he is what he is, he is exciting Offensively as well as Defensively lol

Fans you can't have it both ways, you b1tch when a guy is too Defensive, you call that boring, then when he is Offensive and is willing to bag and willing to exchange then you b1tch about his lack of Defense

50 Cent is setting Gamboa up to fail, I understand wanting the big money and big checks and all that **** but Gamboa don't need to be in the ring with Broner or Mayweather anytime soon...should focus on 130 maybe try to do a match with Uchiyama, even if he has to go to Japan to get that fight

People are going overboard with certain things tbh.

He took some good shots from a big puncher at a new weight class, he won 10 or 11 rounds, he dropped the guy (who has a very good chin) twice, hurt him several other times and he coasted most of the way.

When he fights someone that he considers a real threat you will see a different Gamboa, as is always the case. He doesn't play around, jump in and out with his hands down etc...he takes it serious and fights serious.

Gamboa looked good to me for being away from the sport for 14 months. Larry Merchant was being a hater the whole time he was fighting. I felt like he was being way too hard on him. That boxing fit he had on was sic.

It's a fight; Gamboa hadn't fought in fifteen months; he was overconfident; and Farenas is a decent fighter. No surprise Michael landed some good shots.

I say again that I was happy to see Yuri took Farenas's blows well. Michael has good power.

Does anyone know why Gamboa was always punching after the bell? Was it because of farenas's repeated headbutts? Were they exchanging words?

Even at the end, after decisively winning, he was still being rather ungraceful.
