Apparently you missed how uncompetative a bunch of his fights have been.

He's fighting out of his depth and his style is almost as yawn worthy as Ruiz only in a technically proficient way.

Unfortunatley you don't watch the heavies for technical proficiencies, you want a bit of **** and power - He's had some entertaining fights - But the one most people cite is the Ibeabuchi loss, the "win" over Vitali and the younger brother punching him up in the return.

I thought Fres beat him by two rounds, I also thought Golotta beat him by a round.

Having said all that - I'd love to see Toney and Byrd. or Jones and Byrd - At least make a rule that the HW's can only have one former Middle champ in their ranks at a time.

Stuff you've already heard, but this one is also for the new era. Byrd has the IBF belt, as Mike Weaver and Gerrie Coetzee also had alphabelts. Little known fact, Ernie Terrell held the WBA belt. Byrd is an aging former defensive wiz who hasn't won a fight since Holyfield. Byrd gets hit way too much now, and his straight left makes Spadafora look like Pacquiao. He's a guy who really can not compete at an elite level, even with this weak crop of heavyweights. Hey CITA, whats good homie!

There are wins, and then there are wins. If we're going like that, then Antuofermo was the equal of Hagler in the first fight and DLH was superior to Quartey in their '99 war. There are wins, and then there are wins.

and maybe you've forgotten how good golata is cause of his "losses"
but remember he was winning many of his fights be for taking himself out of the fight.

The innevitable "Couldashouldawoulda". You know Ibeabuchi could've beaten Lewis, theoretically. Golata's fear of being punched is what makes him go crazy. He snapped in the Grant and Tyson fights because he met too big a puncher. The Bowe fights were an up and comer beating up on a finished legend. The second Golata faces another big puncher, he'll go crazy again.

                      what gift?

                      oquindo?

                      oquindo lost.

oquindo was doing well rounds 3-7 but then started imitating ruiz
by rushing and grabbing and hitting behind the head.

byrd wasn't busy but at least he was poppin the jab inbetween rushes and was trying to win while oquindo was tring to knocking him out the way he cheated and k.o.ed mo harris.

                      byrd won the fight.
