Obviously more people know who Trout is after this, but would you say Trout gained a ton of new fans from this? I personally didn't come out thinking "Wow, I really want to see more of this guy" any more than I did before. This was a great win and a great name for Trout, but I don't think it was enough for Trout to really emerge as a star.

I don't put too much stock into that stuff.... He did what he had to do to win..... Keeping racking up the W's and it will come.... I would rather have that then a flash in the pan KO and said fighter goes on to lose his next boutComment

He won't be a star, but I didn't find him boring. He traded when he could honestly, the fight was pretty excitingComment

i think to have a "star making performance" you have to destroy/whoop the bigger name. trout didn't stop him or had him too hurt, so i don't think too many people will be sold on trout after tonight. some will just excuse this loss as age/weight disadvantage for cotto.Comment
