Berto would have been his first defense, Aydin made him interim champion then he should have got elevated if the WBC went according to their rules any number of the several they have used to strip guys in the past.

          Ouch.

You'd think coming over a win over Pacquaio you'd get more than 0.7% of the vote

Well the same applies for Mayweather when he fought Ortiz so by the same logic, "no matter how you spin it" surely he wasn't a top fighter either.

He broke the rules but still, he was a top WW at the time.
            I don't have to spin anything..Mayweather num 1 P4P(or two however ya like)and cash cow...Ortiz was kicking down May's door...Then there's Berto..A drug cheat..No spin just facts...

Mayweather was unranked in the P4P list and at WW at the time.

              He wasn't ranked anywhere.

              Was he a top fighter?

                      No, just a question.

You're saying Berto wasn't ranked and didn't have a belt at 147 thus wasn't a top fighter at 147. But the fact is, he was considered to be one of the Top fighters at 147 at the time of the Guererro fight hence why he was the favorite.

The same applies for Mayweather when he fought Ortiz. Wasn't ranked, didn't have a belt. But, he was still considered to be a Top fighter at WW at the time and in the world in general.
