And that is precisely why Cotto shouldn't fight Canelo in his. Fuick that I have been saying that for months now. Cotto has paid his dues and should dictate everything in the fight! I hope Cotto flexs his power in this regard if this fight happens.

Cotto is getting 90% of the total PPV, and 85% of all sponsorship!!

Cotto will make around the neighborhood of 4 - 5 millions!!

Cotto is not gonna fight Canelo, Canelo thinks he is the A side and he wont budge, so teh fight wont happend.

Cotto will end up fighting Martinez june 9 at MSG for the MW title!!!

I sure he will be in that range after PPV and promo money kicks in. Also, a lot of promoter/fighters report lower purses for tax purposes.

there's no reason at all to post a purse that's calculated in that sense (after filing your income taxes,)

he's not making 10 million dollars to fight austin trout. he got an 8 million dollar base in the mayweather fight, which was enormous.

Wow both are ****ty purses. But for Trout that's most likely a career high.

Wait till poor Austin Trout sees Bloomberg's cut in addition to Uncle Sam. Figure luxury tax is damn near 50%. I'd be surprised if he saw half of the 250K after taxes, promoter fees, his corner and manager's take, etc.

Trout is fortunate to even get a dime from any of that. I don't know if Cotto will clear that much but he will certainly get a nice bump.
