Past history has shown that beating Berto doesn't mean you're an elite-level fighter. Berto is nowhere near as good as HBO wanted/wants him to be, surely that's obvious by now? I really hope he doesn't get the shot at Floyd because that isn't a good fight.
You make a good point in regards to saying beating Berto doesn't necessarily make you elite. Ortiz beat him in a dog fight and he certainly isn't an elite fighter by any means. I will say this though, some of us weren't surprised Guerrero won but by the manner in which he won. He won a dog fight pressing the fight to Berto. We expected the opposite to happen. We expected Berto to come forward and Guerrero to win with his boxing skills that we know he has from past fights. Beating Berto in this manner shows a different dimension to Guerrero. It shows Guerrero certainly can press forward with effectiveness when its called for. Couple that with his technical skill and he has all the tools to give problems to the elite fighters. When Mayweather loses it will happen by a sudden KO. And EVERYONE will be shocked. He can't keep winning forever. His time is almost up and Guerrero is a threat.

Guerrero has two good wins, but all they do is put him in a position to get the fights in 2013 where he can actually have some wins to be considered FOTY. I'd say hands down it's Donaire.

I'd laugh if the Ghost beat the snot out of Floyd. Floyd might not even fight him because he doesn't have the legs to run away from him. He doesn't have the chin to stand toe to toe with Canelo either.

Trust me, Floyd is having second thoughts about fighting the Ghost now after what he did to Berto and to that shoulder roll defense.

What is Boxing coming to, when a guy beats "Aydin and Berto" and is considered for FOTY

I think Donaire deserves it even without Arce.

But if he managed to lose or draw against Arce it would and should slip away from him.

Hyping up Guerrero to justify him over Martinez, Canelo and Pac. The article sounded like Fighter of the Decade from Ronnie N.

I'm rooting for Donaire to win FOTY. He's been very active and beaten some good fighters. A KO against Arce should cement that cause.
