First of all, in all of boxing, there were no days more glorious than the Leonard era... That might have something to do with it

Second of all, to answer the TS's question... Becuz he has a win over Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, and Wilfred Benitez which trumps everything Floyd has ever done, and was too afraid to do, including beat Pacquiao, Margarito, and Cotto in his prime

Edit: And just to clarify, I'm saying that if he fought and beat Pacquiao, Margarito, and Cotto in his prime... He still wouldn't be as great as Ray

Mayweather is held to a standard like no other. Hate is blind. Every time he beats the Guy people say he fears haters dig up 4 or 5 skeletons he didn't fight. This may not be you. But I see it as a direct testimony as to how good he is. All the greatest fighters go through it. Leonard was hated on in his time. They prayed for Ali to lose every fight. Srr is considered goat by many but he held out to the last minute for fights and despised by some for his flashy ways. The passing of time does something strange to a haters mind.

Sugar RaY fought figters in their prime Floyd fought all elite fighters after lightwieght when the were has beens like Delahoya, Mosley and Cotto. Ray never fought little guys like Hatton and marquez. Ray never used roids unlike Floyd who has failed 3 drug test only to have Oscar cover them up.

the camacho and norris fights are about as worthless as Ali v Holmes and Ali v Berbick.

great points all...i'd say had he fought and beat pac, margarito, and cotto, and even mosley in their primes, he'd have a stronger argument in any mythical battles, or resumes comparisons with hearns, srl, duran, hagler, benitez, etc.

PBF is a great boxer no doubt, but if you were to transplant him back to the 90's he wouldnt be so great, a prime DLH, TITO, Quartey..Sweet Pea would all beat him. And if you were to take him back to the late 70s - 80's...he might make the top ten list somewhere below the likes of SRL,Hearns,Benitez
