Over the world, there are plenty of good up-and-coming heavyweights:

    Davis Price
    Kubrat Pulev
    Vyacheslav Glazkov
    Magomed Abdusalamov
    Bogdan Dinu

There are others such as Artur Szpilka, Tyson Fury, Oleg Platov, Francesco Pianeta, Edmund Gerber and Robert Helenius who have potential but I have some doubts about.

There are some decent up-and-coming American HWs, but no one that really stands out.

    Tor Hamer
    Bryant Mitchell
    Deontay Wilder
    Joe Hanks
    Malik Scott

Who is the best American heavyweight right now? Who has the best chance of winning a world title after the Klitschkos are gone?
Wilder stands out. Numerous reports in Wlad camp already stated he was the fastest SHW any of them ever seen.

Wlad even went on to say when he pushed Wilder, Wilder was actually the FASTEST HEAVYWEIGHT. Faster than Haye.

His right hand is extremely powerful and he's 6'7 along with filling out. He will probably end up at 245.
This guy is only 27, he is probably the future.

Currently US do NOT have any HW at worldlevel. Pier 3 or 4 at best.

So my pick is Chris "Tecate and Burrito's" Arreola

I still want to see Chris fit and in shape fighting, he always fights with 30 extra lb's.
Semi-competitive???? - did he at all hit slow Vitali? Yes, he came forward but did nothing at all. US HW sucks.

Eddie Chambers is still the best american HW. Outboxed Adamek with one arm.

He does seem to have excellent potential. The guy he's fighting next is a better journeyman - he's feather-fisted but big and durable and will likely give Deontay some rounds.

Chris Arreola is the more proven but Malik Scott is probably the most talented of the bunch followed by Tor Hamer who IMO could make cruiserweight.

Hope that Wilder pans out, we need some new blood in the HW division regardless of nationality.

Evander Holyfield is still the best American Heavyweight.
