It was a great performance but the guy he was up against was quite bad imo, he rarely clinched & didn't know what to do on the ropes.

Lets hope Cleverly steps it up in his next fight

Oh, but Americans don't like to acknowledge that, do they

and yet Ward's hand injury against Froch is brought up every 5 seconds
still pretending calzaghe had power? do we need to post all his "ko" vids again?

He'll pad his record for most of his career with C-class opposition. Then get the best out of a really close decision with 1 decent fighter, then retire undefeated.

I'd rather take losses from the best than have a legacy like Calzaghes
Then he'll be remembered as a great.

21 Title defenses after all, and everyone knows that equals great.

Cleverly and Calzaghe do not compare.

Cleverly really needs to get away from being trained by his father, it's limiting his potential. He was looking good when he was boxing his way in but as usual, that went out the window and he just became ragged.

Entertaining performance with him throwing so many punches but many landed on the gloves and he doesn't have good boxing IQ. Hawk was open for those body shots all night and it took Cleverly several rounds before he actually started working it.

The disappointing aspect with Calzaghe's career was that he was better than his record suggested and was never truly tested. However, Cleverly's level is already evident and fighting lesser opposition is the best way to go to preserve his career. I don't think this trend will continue though, he's getting sparked by a contender.
