I wonder if he'll go down the same way Calzaghe has.

He'll pad his record for most of his career with C-class opposition. Then get the best out of a really close decision with 1 decent fighter, then retire undefeated.

I'd rather take losses from the best than have a legacy like Calzaghes

Oh, but Americans don't like to acknowledge that, do they

and yet Ward's hand injury against Froch is brought up every 5 seconds
dont they? i dont know. i'm british.

cleverly isnt going to leave much of a dent on the clouds and the dawsons but they are going to leave a dent in him.
he needs to work on his power

          you should know better then

There was a damn good reason for Calzaghe's "slaps", because if he hit any harder he'd probably break his hands and end his career.

he was essentially a handicapped fighter.

Cleverly has been fighting scrubs and Hawk wasn't much better, but he looked exciting last night against albeit limited opposition. As long as he fights somebody worth a damn in his next fight I won't be too harsh on him.

He does have a very good win over the underrated Bellew, but he has to step it up no doubt.

I don't even like Cleverly, but I believe he'd give Dawson a good fight. Cleverly hits just as hard as Ward, is far more aggressive, and can take a punch as well. Dawson wouldn't have it easy with Cleverly.

Some negativity here, but then I didn't expect any less. People are so quick to write off boxers in NSB, esp. when they're non-Yank boxers.

I thought Cleverly looked okay, for a guy still learning his trade. He might benefit from being in a division that isn't that steep right now.

I think Shumenov would be ideal for his next fight, the others would be a big step up. Even Shumenov is not as bad as Campillo made him look and wouldn't be an easy win for Cleverley.

If they do end up choosing Hopkins I think they'll regret it. If I was a promoter, I'd only let my guy face Hopkins if he was either a great fighter or he had a great trainer who was very confident of winning.

Cleverley seems undecided on who to have as his trainer, that should be his priority above picking an opponent.

It was a good performance from Nathan. I don't see why he gets so much hate on nsb. His style is exciting and he has great shot selection and hand speed. Can't believe he's being compared to Joe resume wise, when the kids only 25 and trying to crack the States while Joe was in his 30's.

I like the kid next year's going to make or break him, hope he proves the haters wrong.

Cleverly has a lot of raw qualities going for him. He needs to get away from Wales and Warren and try to become a true champion, not the fraud he is now.
