floyd had a chance to fight cotto for years when he was actually a threat. fight never made. floyd had a chance to fight margarito when he was ranked #1 for 3 plus years. fight never made. look what happened when baldomir scored an upset win. fight made! because baldomir sucks. don't give me this crap about baldomir being better than proven fighters simply because he's lineal. that's like saying zsolt erdei was better than tarver and hopkins because he was lineal. if margarito was lineal floyd was going to fight him? yeah that must be why he retired....division's clean he took care of baldomir!
In your honest opinion who "scared" Floyd the most?

Shade, thats not true. Lets say it was, since manny just tried to make a catchweight fight with Cotto for a rematch instead of fighting floyd. Using the logic in this post, does that mean he is afraid of floyd?
mayweather is treating pac like an opponent. where as pac isnt the opponent. Manny is the opponent, floyd is treating manny the same way SRL made Hearns wait 2 years, Hagler 5 years, and fought Duran while he let the hearns fight "marinate". Do you remember this? floyd has also fought bigger fighters, most recently cotto, not at a CW like Manny.
Besides what does 8 titles have to do with anything? Manny is getting treated like Hearns/Duran/ Hagler were. the difference is they wanted to fight SRL so they accepted the offers they got. Oh yeah SRL retired too. DId that mean he was afraid of Hagler?
Was SRL afraid of Hearns because he made him wait? Of course not, it was a business decision, same as floyd.
but at least SRL did fight those guys, since 130 lbs Floyd has ducked all his biggest challenges.Comment

SRL was scared ****less of Hagler you fool. Go watch the espn special documentary thing on their fight. And during their fight when Hagler taunted him to stand and fight with him and stop running around the ring like a *****, SRL said "no way." SRL didn't even win that fight even though Hagler had a bad strategy, trying to box for a bunch of rounds. Dundee would call 30 seconds at end of the round, SRL would do some flashy flurries, after losing the rest of the round, then the judges would give it to him.
but at least SRL did fight those guys, since 130 lbs Floyd has ducked all his biggest challenges.
Truest words ever, that was like margarito confronting floyd of the 80's, fortunately SRL after getting what gloves was to be used, how big the large ought to be, etc finally fought the great hagler. he ducked a rematch as well./Comment

It is against the law to think that Floyd is scared of inferior Cotto, Margarito, or Pacquiao. Not when Shane, and Marquez exist..Comment

Floyd fought Judah in april 2006, Baldomir in November.
Cotto fought Paulie M in june 2006 at 140 and Quintana at 147 in december
Baldomir was lineal and Cotto had not even had a single fight yet at welterweight. You guys are so ****ing ******ed.
Floyd's LAST fight at 140 was in 2005 against Gatti, with Cotto ringside when they both were under Arum. Cotto said no way to a floyd fight then. Hatton's trainer also said openly he wasnt ready for floyd, so floyd moved up to 147 to face judah for the lineal title, judah lost his stay busy fight so floyd fought them both.Last edited by elfag; 11-07-2012, 09:48 PM.Comment
