They should call Froch the grim reaper because he just ruins every fighter he faces.

Carl "The Executioner" Froch. Deal with it, hater.

Froch vs. Hopkins. Executioner vs. Executioner.

I thought Reid already had his powers beat out of him before Froch could take them. Froch has proved me wrong. Again.

lol.. anytime a fighter takes a tough loss hes "ruined". bute was far from his best, but coming back from a loss like that can take more than one fight. you cant just watch his first fight back and say hes ruined unless he clearly has nothing left. that wasnt the case here, he was a bit tentative but if you didnt see that coming you are an idiot.

this was just to get back in there, he wasnt supposed to be the old bute just yet. very few fighters are able to take a loss like that and not have it effect them whatsoever, most fighters need time to get their confidence back and i think bute did AFTER this fight. in the 12th round he was his old self, partially bcuz he could see the light at the end of the tunnel but also bcuz he took big shots all night and was still there. that gave him confidence imo. it wont be enough to beat froch but that doesnt mean hes ruined.

People keep saying "it was his first fight back", but aren't realizing that he had all the advantages and should've won convincingly. A fighter the caliber of Grachev shouldn't be landing so many shots on a supposed Top 3 SMW. Grachev used Froch's strategy and the fight almost looked identical to Bute/Froch. Froch is just a better all-around fighter than Grachev, hence why Bute couldn't even make it to the second half of the fight.

I think we can all agree that Froch should not be his next fight, but I don't think it matters. He could get his confidence back and still get broken down again by Froch because Cobra snatched a piece of his heart. And if Bute fights guys like Stevenson/Rodriguez, he runs the risk of losing. So what is the best path? Fight Froch now and possibly get your career ended? Or fight one of the top contenders and potentially lose a shot at the IBF title?

i think bute showed a lot of heart last night. especially slugging it out in those last few rounds. he seemed like he was regaining some of his confidence near the end of the fight. it wasn't his most impressive performance but one of his most entertaining. i won't consider him shot/done until after the froch rematch. looking forward to the fight as i'm a big fan of both guys.
