Just like manny being manny in baseball a few years back its the same with Judah jus him being him. He's from the hood trained by his father and is involved in that street life. That's not the recipe for world champion boxer.

Judahs main problem was his teacher. The way Judah learned to fight was his downfall. His style did not fit his strengths and weaknesses. His father taught him to be aggressive ,throw alot of head punches, body punches was nonexistant,to throw everything with bad intentions. Zab also never learn defense. He never learned to pace himself for the long haul either. It was always knock them out or get knocked out. If Judah would have learned patients, body punching, defense, and to mix up his punches from light to heavy, he would have been alot more accurate and effective. He also would have been alot more confident down the stretch. Fatigue causes alot of fighters to crack mentally. Speed and power will only go so far in boxing, it must be mixed in with other attributes.Last edited by SWEETSCIENCE100; 11-01-2012, 11:09 PM.

Every fighter was not meant to be great no matter how much ability they have. I think Zab always had all the talent and ability to be a great fighter. But because he lacks the intangibles of a great champion, he fell short. To me its all mental. I think he is a dedicated fighter. If he had the right mentality, he could have been great with the tools that he do have. If he understood that evry fight would not be easy and had a fight plan coming in the ring, he would be fine. But once the fight gets tough for him, he simply breaks down mentally. He also doesn't know what to do in certain situations. If he had a better trainer that taught him the fundamentals at a young age, he would have a much better career. But there has been a lot of great champions who lacked good defense and had questionable chins, but their heart and no lose mentality carried them. Zab is a B class fighter at best. He will always beat the C and lower class fighters, but the elite will always beat him. Cotto and Khan, in my opinion, are also B class fighters. But, Cotto is a smart fighter and comes in with a solid fight plan. Khan has youth on his side at this point, but I think his career will be parallel to Zab's. He has great talent and ability, but just lack the championship intagibles.

Ive noticed a trend with physically gifted athletic fighters like Judah. Once they meet with someone that they cant dance circles around and can take one as good as they can get one, they get discouraged. Tszyu showed Judah that he is not invinscible and that fight showed Judah to be an average fighter because he didnt have a plan B. Only truly great fighters can change in the middle of a fight, that is why Floyd whooped him. Floyd went to plan B and Judah had no answer and once again got discouraged...

Crazy handspeed, brutal power, I mean he was whooping floyds a$$ early in that fight
But things just always kept going wrong and Judah never fulfilled his potential.
No Heart Judah is more appropriate.

Zab can't handle pressure. As soon as a fighter steps up their aggression, he folds. Case in point, taking a knee when Cotto started to put his punches together. Better than his old tactic of just deliberately low-blowing the crap out of his oppenent in the clinch. Wait...I actually might still prefer that method over him taking a knee and covering his face in shame...

He has and had nothing else to give. And you can only go so far with just that.
