If Manny needs money then yea he basically has to dance to Arum's tune, but even in that case he could still stand up to Arum playing chicken with him and say Floyd or I retire, if Manny is serious I think Arum folds first and Manny makes his biggest ever purse.
Floyd has proven to make scads more fighting whoever so the fight not happening has cost him much less in terms of opportunity cost, and I don't see that changing because Floyd still generates the exact same sort of feelings in people he always has which correlates nicely with his money making potential.

Depends on who you talk to. Some people will tell you that Pac's stock dropped because Hoya had to drop to WW. Much like some people feel Ward's stock dropped for beating Dawson at SMW and not LHW. The difference is, Hoya was well past it while Dawson is still game. JMM is still game at WW. However everyone said he was not when Floyd beat him at WW. Yet the Pac fight proved everyone wrong. JMM held his own and some believe he won. Now saying that, i'll tell you Floyd's stock dropped when he beat JMM at WW (not to mention being overweight). That was just a **** fight all around.
As for Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, Hoya, JMM or whoever else you mentioned, it depends on who you talk to. If you're a pactart you will find it in you to say that Floyd should have never been allowed to box because he sucks etc. If you're an actual boxing fan you will look at not WHO the fighters where but WHEN Mayweather and Pac fought them. This who beat who “better” is lame as it is more about who beat who WHEN they were relevant. i,e. Hoya was relevant at JMW and younger, Hatton was undefeated, prime, younger, and had his team backing him.
However he was irrelevant at WW BUT he held a WW title so he was NOT out of his element like non boxing fans claim. He was perfectly game, undefeated and more confident than he ever was. Remember boxing has a lot to do with mental toughness. Also, Mosley was relevant at WW as he was the Champion when Mayweather fought him. Can’t say the same for Pac. Cotto was relevant at both WW and JMW when both guys fought him. Just look at WHEN not who. You will be better off.Comment
